Moto Guzzi V11 Naked

Here is one very rideable motorcycle that does most everything right. Comfortable riding position, enough V-twin power with wonderful torque, and handles the twisties like a sportbike! It’s Italian of course.

Moto Guzzi was bought by Aprilia in 2000 and they really sorted out these bikes. 2003 and later is the Guzzi to own, as they made some major improvements. This is one of our first Guzzis and we are totally impressed with how well mannered the V11 Sport is. It feels just right in any situation: urban cafe hopping, cursing down the open road or attacking the mountain curves. You will not be disappointed.

This thing is solid at any speed. The front end is stable and won’t get upset in the worst road conditions, yet it is very light and nimble when you need it to be. The engine will go forever and has just the right amount of V-twin vibration to let you know it’s alive and ready for more.

But not so much as to be unpleasant.

Don’t expect this bike to keep up with the I-4 liter bikes or a Ducati or Aprilia Superbike, it is not a sportbike but something in its own class. And class it has! It will get the most attention no matter what crowd you ride with. This bike does so many things well that you will want to ride it for almost any occasion. This has to be the bike with the most class, style, comfort and enjoyable ride of any naked bike we have ever ridden.

And we have ridden a lot.

Here is how we would describe the V11: wonderful torquey power curve, very comfortable, rock solid stable at any speed, terrible roads don’t bother it, ride all day long, drag a knee sportbike handling (with one hand), be the only one in town with one, the bike that everyone with be standing around admiring, and the bike of choice to cafe hop in town. And yeah. shaft drive and low maintenance that is really affordable.
