2006 Aprilia Leonardo 125/300 ST

Leonardo’s blend of genius, creativity and technology has proved a tremendous success for Aprilia in sales and image. The unique Leonardo, characterised by sporty yet elegant design and advanced technology, has established itself as an unshakable reference point in the tumultuous scooter market.

Since it was first introduced in 1996, more than 100,000 Leonard scooters have been sold, accounting for a significant slice of Europe’s over-50 cc scooter market.

Leonardo is an extremely valid and attractive alternative to the maxi-scooter and guarantees exceptional handling and sporty performance. Its well balanced chassis and compact size, in conjunction with an extremely rational use of space have led many experts to describe Leonardo as the maximum expression of technology, performance and riding pleasure in a scooter.

The current model, introduced in 2001, has taken Leonardo to even greater heights thanks to numerous improvements designed to enhance versatility. Over the years Leonardo has been moulded into the perfect solution to the mobility needs of the over-50 cc scooter market, without losing any of its unique character and Aprilia personality.

Advanced design and ergonomics make Leonardo just as comfortable as the biggest maxi scooter while ensuring the sort of agile, nippy handling that small scooter fans love.

The luxurious low seat provides maximum comfort for the rider. The wide passenger seat, also designed for absolute comfort, is only slightly raised, so passenger comfort and satisfaction are guaranteed, as is excellent aerodynamics.

The raised windshield provides great protection against wind and rain so you can relax in total confidence even on the longest journeys. The generous aluminium luggage rack incorporates grab handles for the passenger and enables a top box to be fitted quickly and easily with no extra brackets or mounting plates.

It is the only scooter on the market with the handling and performance of a medium size sports scooter plus the image, status and comfort of a maxi. And of course, Leonardo still maintains that same touch of exclusive elegance that has always set it aside from other run of the mill scooters. Its high performance chassis and the high level of riding pleasure it delivers mean that Leonardo is a serious rival for many motorcycles.

Fun and satisfaction are guaranteed with Leonardo, but with safety, easy riding and effective weather protection thrown in for good measure.

Leonardo’s spacious ‘comfort’ rider and passenger seat is anatomically shaped. It is particularly comfortable and supporting, but also makes riding easier and safer, especially for riders of smaller stature. With Leonardo it is never a problem to get your feet firmly on the ground.

The grab handle at the rear of the luggage rack enhances passenger comfort by providing a firm and safe grip. An optional top box can be installed on the luggage rack too.

The aggressively styled leg shield is one of Leonardo’s most striking design features and significantly improves aerodynamics and wind protection for rider and passenger.

Only Leonardo packs so much comfort into so little space! Leonardo is the perfect mount for riders of all statures. Passengers are also pampered by exceptional comfort while the passenger footrests can be easily removed to allow solo riders greater freedom of movement.

The two double acting rear shock absorbers are adjustable in spring preload to allow the extremely valid chassis and suspension to be set up to suit all possible load carrying and riding requirements.

The practical under-seat storage compartment provides plenty of space to stow a helmet.

Leonardo’s high-tech engine guarantees miserly fuel consumption. Combined with the generous 9.5 litre tank they give LEONARDO an autonomy of over 200 km, just like a real tourer.

Advanced technology is another of Leonardo’s plus points. Modern, powerful and environmentally friendly engine makes riding sporty and fun without compromising safety and comfort.

The powerful new 300 has all the smooth, flexible power you need for great acceleration, overtaking and getting out of trouble quickly. When it comes to performance, the Leonardo 300 knows no rivals.

Leonardo is not just a synonym for performance and safety. The level of equipment is also a benchmark for other manufacturers.

Advanced suspension and a powerful braking system guarantee effective stopping whatever the conditions. Both brakes use two piston racing style calipers. The front brake features a 220 mm disc while a. 190 mm disc is fitted at the rear.

The result is powerful, efficient, fade-free and sensitive braking.

Leonardo’s brake circuit also uses extremely low expansion brake hose to eliminate delayed action and guarantee great ‘feel’ at the brake lever. 12 wheels fitted with wide, low profile tyres also enhance road holding and safety.

These impressive technical specifications add up to make LEONARDO unique in terms of riding satsifaction. In fact, Leonardo’s bike-style ride is one of its most distinctive features. An upright sitting position and motorcycle feel combine to give excellent control, so you can enjoy great performance in total safety. Leonardo’s handling is always natural and intuitive, even on bends.

Leonardo corners in confidence, in the best motorcycle tradition, with no twitches or wobbles when you negotiate even tight or fast bends.
