2011 Aprilia RSV4 SE | First Ride

2011 Superbike

Wow is my first impression. high tech wonder, the Aprilia RSV4 Factory SE, has got it all: traction control, control, wheelie control, shifter and 3 different riding

And it all works! I realized this after testing the Aprilia superbike at the Jerez circuit in the same circuit on the MotoGP

The traction control is proper TC, and like Ducati’s (DTC), is adjustable in eight levels, the rider can turn it off. it differs from Ducati’s is that Aprilia’s traction feels smoother; several said that they feel when the traction was in action.

I started off my first session the Aprilia APRC Special superbike using level 8, and to test I pinned it in all the tightest using first gear. It was obvious that the traction was working indeed otherwise I have ended up in the gravel The traction control switchgear from the Mana and is very to use while on the move aboard the

Jerez is a perfect circuit to motorcycles. The long sweeping are super fast and with the RSV4 Factory APRC SE you can lay down rubber like the racers without risking limbs.

There are also of hard braking areas, corners and technical areas all suit the RSV4 APRC It’s still the mighty nimble superbike it was from the and is one of the easiest liter bikes to direction quickly from left to hard right or versa.

The new Pirelli 200 section tire oozes of superbike even at standstill and when it go (which happens often now that us mortals can slide courtesy of traction control) it in a smooth undramatic way. Fun is it really is.

The wheelie control on the RSV4 is adjustable in three levels and and like the launch control about limiting torque to a level. Again, it really and all I had to think about was to let go off that throttle opening in time to before the corners.

Launch is a very special feature to add to a bike, and really reflects wishes to make this a racebike for the road because really not much use for the RSV4 on the road.

Drag racing from to light is all well. However, you cancel the launch mode at speeds lower than (100mph), which isn’t in town…

Due to the complexity and the necessity to the clutch down properly each launch it’s a racing feature really. I did my launches and after double the setting is correct all I had to do was to keep the wide open and let go of the clutch modulation. You can’t just it because then it could all go either way.

Either a big unsalvageable wheelie or you all torque on the RSV4 APRC It’s heaven or hell.

The shifter works like a and makes going faster a lot easier. All in all this is going to be a positive review which thoroughly deserve. Stay to UltimateMotorCycling.com for a full review of the RSV4 APRC SE.
