DESCRIPTION: Here I am selling my much loved Aprilia Pegaso 125. It is an Import bike from Italy, which I bought from a mass importer. I then had to register it etc with the DVLA.

She is currently SORN as the Tax and MOT have run out as of 2 days ago and I am moving up to a bigger bike soon, so I didn’t want to eat into my fund for a bigger bike by sending this through it’s MOT and Tax.

The following parts have all been replaced

€¢ Dellorto 28mm Carburettor

€¢ Powervalve system (Solenoid, Cable, Blade Housing and Blade)

€¢ Brand New Front Wheel (Re-built with new Spokes and Plugs)

Shortly after getting the bike, the old engine seized it’s bottom end and as I didn’t have the time to re-build the engine myself (as this was my only transport) a new engine went in. The new engine came out of a 1998 Aprilia RS125 with only 6,000 km on it. Whilst fitting the engine I fitted the following new parts to it, to make sure it’s was top notch:

€¢ Mitaka Barrel

€¢ Mitaka Double Ring Piston

€¢ OEM Gaskets

€¢ Cylinder Head

€¢ Water Jacket Head

All of this has come close to about £800.

She runs Fantastic and I’ve had about 86Mph out of her, This would be even better if a Dellorto 34mm Carburettor was fitted as this would give you more torque and power. Easily outruns most 4-Stroke 125’s and lot of 2-Stroke 125’s, but please remember this a Trail/Enduro style bike, so not built to be the fastest thing possible, it’s also about comfort and the ability to go off road if required/wanted.

She has also got a Full Arrow exhaust system on it, so Arrow expansion chamber and end can. The baffles are changeable by just unbolting 3 bolts to allow access. Also has a performance Reed Valve fitted.

When the engine was replaced, most bolts on the Engine and Fairings were changed for brand new Stainless Steel bolts which look great and shiny. There however a few bolts missing, but can easily be replaced as I ran out during the re-build. These however have not caused an issue for the past 5-6 months of riding.

The Engine casings have also been sprayed black and look great and the Arrow expansion chamber was sprayed black too, to look a bit fresher.

It has 2 Road tyres (Pirelli Scorpion – MT60) fitted to it and almost makes it look Super-Moto style. The front has plenty of life left in it, but the rear may need changing within the next 500miles or so. The front has also had a Brand New wheel built, with new spokes and fittings and looks fantastic.

This was at a cost of £220 all due to one of the smallest dents in the front wheel that the MOT tester picked up on its first test, which didn’t cause any issue, but he didn’t want it there.

A new sprocket and chain set was fitted just before the engine swap and are in great condition, also a bigger (16 tooth) front sprocket will be supplied.

Now for the bad points, the 2 front shocks require the seals to be changed as they are loosing oil. I do however have the OEM seals and a sealed bottle of fork oil ready for this to take place; I just haven’t got around to it. The Front Brake pads could also do with a change, but are fine at the moment.

There are also some scratches down both side fairings, but where like this when purchased, so whoever owned it over in Italy, must have caused them. The front wheel bearing might also need a change as this was picked up as an advisory in its last MOT.

This is a very solid bike and with a bit of love a TLC, will easily supply its new owner with enjoyment and pure fun on every journey. With the arrow exhaust set-up, it sounds superb too.

Oh yes, also forgot to mention, she has only ever been run on the top spec Castrol TTS 2-stroke oil. This is great oil and I would advise using it all the time.

This bike rides Fantastic and will get you through all weathers. Even during the winter in snow and ice it never failed me, nor did it even step out of line. You get a very confident feeling on it.

It is a very big 125 bike and doesn’t look out of place with a 6’2 14 Stone bloke on, so is suitable for even the taller of us.

All Documents, old MOT certificate and a wadge of Receipts will be supplied with the bike.

If I could afford to keep it and get myself a bigger bike I would, as I genuinely am quite sad to see this go.

As stated above, some love a TLC will get this bike fantastic again.

Bargain at £550 ono.

I will also throw in all the spares (a box worth) I have for the bike including the original Rotax Barrel as well a Brand New Denso €œIridium Power€ Spark plug worth £20. These are a lot better than the NGK Iridium’s and apparently make your bike feel totally different (I didn’t have chance to try it). In the spared box are a mound of Bolts, washers and fittings, original Reed valve, cylinder head, water jacket head, pillion pegs etc.

PICTURES: (Sorry for the Quality of the Pictures, but i used my Dad’s camera which had alsorts of lenses and adapters attached to it which seems to have created a grainy effect).
