Kenda Scooter J.R. writes: Thank you for the lead regarding the Kenda tire. It worked out perfectly for me. My dealer wasn’t able to through other than to say the stock tire is back-ordered Italy (possibly indefinitely).

I to a dealer closer to me that Piaggio with the 110/70-16s for the Piaggio BV200; the Pirelli design looked fine to me but I was about the weight and speed because the Scarabeo is much and the P-speed rating (94 mph) is than the stock Maxxis (112 mph) — I wasn’t comfortable (the is capable of very close to 100 mph the wind at your back not that I’m likely to go but I didn’t want less than spec).

The dealer agreed with that, though the Vespa mark-up is higher, and they found the — which happens to be (130 mph). Well, I was terribly impressed with the but I really didn’t have a in any event since I was riding on a tire that had picked up a after 1,800 miles one-third worn).

Right from the start even with the mismatch front / Kenda rear) I can tell you there’s no question I have improved the ride and significantly. I have put about 500 on the new tire, and it performs extremely with more confidence in the and windy conditions, and is much in wet weather (even with hazardous leaf debris on the Most notably, it feels the suspension has been improved a softer feel over

Bottom line, other owners should consider the when it’s convenient; I wouldn’t wait for a last 10% of life situation.

It is disappointing Kenda does not really a matching front tire the 110/70-16 is not a correct fit; a to 110/80-16 is highly recommended bike already is less-than-responsive in turns due to weight and wheel and a wider front tire would only make worse).

From (05/11): Heidenau now has a US distributor, in They are located in Santa California and sell both in and mail order. They can mount in-store.

The K72 model comes in the 140/70-16 65S I myself have a Piaggio X-9 500 That takes a 120/70-14 and a 150/70-14 tire on the rear, the of which is getting harder to

I could only find Diablo, Heidenau K66, and City Grip as reasonable for the rear. The Michelin Gold line is discontinued. The Michelin Sport SC is supposed to come in size, but two dealers I called have a listing for it.

The Heidenau K66 is a rain tire, but some is not that suitable for the long dry months we get here in California. The K61 be better, but it’s not available in the size. Hope this others.
