If you were planning on modding quad, you choose the wrong a 500 or 650 would have been a choice. There is pretty nothing made for the 400 for preformance Even the few items there are are cost ineffective. The cheapest is a jet kit with a better air filter, but the is not gonna be felt by the rider.

You can go with an aftermarket clamp-on but again the power increase there and most are noisier and the laws are getting bad. The south of me passed a 55 db noise for atvs only. To realize how this is, a lot of people talk than 55 db.

I ride with a of 500 thru 660 utes and on trails and roads I stay up, because I get all the out of my machine. The only time I keep up is when we hit the long and the big horsepower kicks in. I can also go they can’t because of the IRS and the extra ground clearance. One guy as follows:

I have a 2005 400 auto 400 miles on it and it has improved the more I it. However, like most I for a 400 it was lacking a little in power/speed so is what I have done to my 400 so far and I be happier.

I modified my stock muffler and threw the baffles, it has a deeper at idle and is NOT LOUD while I can’t hear any difference so It not offend anyone on the trail, My stock Brute is louder my modded cat. Next I a KN filter with pre-filter and a jet kit @ the current settings. 136 main 2.5 turns on mixing screw, e-clip on 4th notch.

I spent $100.00 for these mods and all I can say is it was money and time well I have not had it on the trail yet but have a little back yard and it finally feels like a It really get up and goes now!!

I have the clutch kit setting in my and will install soon and to upgrade tires later! I keep ya posted about and future mods and appreciate all help and time. I highly what I’ve done on my 400 to 400 owners!

I had it Dyno and would like to know stock figures are compared to if anyone has that information.

Max 18.66

max torque 14.22

But he dyno test before so he doesn’t and will never Now the info I have is that the 400 has 25 hp But that would be flywheel and not rear wheel power. I be willing to bet money that he less than 1/8 horse if much and may have lost

Seat of the pants preformance are almost always the riders for an increase and not actual improvement. run a base line before so you have something to compare to, or you nothing to compare to except desire for your money to been well spent. I a long time and did a lot of changes, good and some bad. But I did onr thing important.

Alway do one change at a time, compare. Once I changed 3 at once and no improvement. When I back and did them one at a time, two top speed by a total of 3 mph and one … 3
