Rahul was the king of the empire from 1960s to 90s.

Bajaj Chetak had a symbol of Indian auto and was in heavy demand due to the fact there was no competition for it.

It had an average period of 10 years. And in some the waiting period went 15 years. It was the most sought dowry during marriages.

So there were funny behind it (they maybe also) which said an expecting father waits the delivery room. As soon as the is born, the first question he ask is “boy or girl?” and depending on the he will either rush to a stall or the nearest Bajaj If its a boy, sweet stall. If then he will book a in Bajaj showroom so that by the he gets the scooter, his daughter be around 16-18 years old and for marriage so that he can give this Chetak as dowry. )

But why were there such waiting periods?

wasnt it all in India? Yes.

Was there of labour in India? No.

Because of our socialistic policies of days which was popularly license raj. From to 1990, anyone who had to do business had to run bureaucrats to get approvals and licenses for One of the approvals was related to the quantity of manufactured per month(quota).

So, Mr.Bajaj had a very tough because he was never given the to increase his monthly quota knows why). Inspite of how people are waiting for decades for a and saying that he will employment to thousands of villagers as in his factory, the govt never to permit him to make more

Finally, a frustrated Rahul went the non-cooperative way and started his quota. As expected, the govt him with imprisonment and filed (Monopololies and Restrictive Trade case against him. the trial, the judge asked if he is ready to go to … for his “mistake”.

For which, Bajaj replied “My went to … for my country’s I stand ready to do the same for on behalf of my motherland”. Nothing after that.
