Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i Ride

It’s been a while since I posted on the blog and all this while I that I was not doing something I love doing.

So, finally got breath of fresh air from the hectic office schedule, and I decided for my next post the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i ride!!

The new Pulsar 220 was easily one of the awaited and talked about releases in the Indian market and it’s release, the bike has good response. Bajaj is leaving no stone unturned to it. be it’s aggressive TVC or it’s at various Bajaj Probikings.

So, what how I found the fastest

Look and Feel, Fit and Finish

No Bajaj has given a lot thought the packaging of the product. The finishing of the is top notch, right from the finish, to switch quality to As soon as I sat on the test bike, I got new Pulsar smell.

Just it. Took me down for a visit to the lane, when I took my out for her first spin.

The Tacho seating, rearsets, handle are smilar to the other big Pulsar (the Pulsar 200 and the Pulsar 220 The black version comes in an all theme including the split rails and the clip-on handle which adds a lot of masculine to the bike along with the F Really, an all Black Pulsar 220 is a real eye candy and gives you big bike feeling.

I’ve ridden Payeng’s 220 DTS-Fi, which came to all the way from Bangalore on road by his younger brother (man. a ride that might been!!). I still remember the the ride catapult through my when I rode the bike. So, those wonderfull memories in my I sat on the the saddle of this spanking new Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi, in, and pushed the ignition and BANG.

The mill came to life in a of a second. So, here are my first —

1) The DC electricals, as with all the versions of Pulsar have engine crank really precise and the engine startup is SWEET. Very much to what we hear in SBKs!!

2) As soon as the engine starts up, the initial rev, it’s to settle down to a 1K idelling and the engine sound is hardly as compared to my Pulsar 200.

3) A of the right wrist is what you feel that that the is in life 😉

4) I observed that the View Mirrors were at idelling too and that was certainly I was prepared to see. We’ve had TBs of over various Internet as how irritating those RVMs are, but looks like forgot to heed any suggestions in department.

So, with a little bit of bad for the RVMs, it was time to engage a frezy!!

Before going to details, I note over just before I was given the the Speedo meter was disengaged. I’ve seen the Odo meter disengaged, but in this case it was the Well we’ll get back to the later.

A slight notch of the toe downwards engaged the 1st gear was quite smooth and precise. moving forward, I tried back to the Neutral and WHOALAAAA. I the Neutral whithout that blip I’m accustumed to on my

So, I again, went back to the 1st gear and off we went.

1) The 1st gear is short and is literally for just the bike to motion. If somebody is the new 220 to show it’s character from the 1st gear itself, it’s not the case.

2) Since the was disengaged, I could not determine at RPM range, the bike was at what but with the sense of speed, what I felt-

2nd gear

35kmph @ 6.5k rpm

3rd gear

45kmph @ 6.5k rpm

4th gear

55kmph @ 6.5k rpm

4) But the story all of a changes, when I engaged the 5th In it’s 5th clog, the bike was speeds much progressively and a lot of enthusiasm which was some missing in the previous gear In the 2nd, 3rd, 4th gears it that I was riding my own Pulsar 200 new fit and finish. But in the 5th gear, the bike me felt how wrong I was.

One one in the previous gears the bike was an advance of roughly 10kmph, but in 5th I felt that the bike on the lines of 72-74kmph @ 6.5k

5) On a rain water wet and muddy the soft compound radial a lot of confidence which made a lot easily in that stupid

I was offered a good 2-3 km ride in apart from blipping the I tried almost everything the traffice could allow me and allowed me to get a feel of the bike. So, the test ride was done, are the positives and negetives of the bike.

1) The 5th gear really allows the to build speeds progressively and The big Venturi carburettor makes presence felt.

2) The bike is quick off the block once you the 2nd gear and really blasts off in 5th gear.

3) The soft compound front and rear tyres are a superb addition to the package. I felt that instead of the MRF Bajaj should have for Michilen’s which would reduced the kerb weight by a percentage.

4) DC lighting allows free startups. But one has be cautious of off the lights once the bike off else the pilot lamp luminated. One sane thinking has done is the behaviour of the Head

If you turn off the bike and the head is on, the head lamp remains on, but if you it off, then it won’t get on you start the bike.

1) The RVM vibrate a lot and the of the RVM really render them

The visibility window is really small and once you have riding gear on, forget seeing the RVM.

2) Vibrations it at arround 6K rpms. This can be as I was riding a Test bike are generally very badly

3) The rear brake simply bike, I didn’t for a single felt that I’ve brake working on the rear.

4) Why did opted for such a punny horn on a bike of this Totally confused me so I preffered not to the horns as it made me feel

5) The biggest impact of omission of Injection from the assembly has on the Low End Torque and that’s very

6) As suggested by Bike India’s issue, the bike has oodles of error of realy 5-9 kmph is quite high and that explain as to why the Speedo was disengaged before the test ride.

So, I found the new Pulsar 220 DTSi a package overall and with the range it is placed it’s a value for money. The point the bike is capable of making a can be debated. But here we should not as to how many times in a day, we get a to give our machines a full

All we want is a fun fill ride and not the Fastest Indian and the New Bajaj 220 DTSi is FUN TILL IT’S BOLT.
