Bajaj XCD-135 —

Yesterday I got opportunity to have a ride of the new Bajaj XCD -135. already mentioned in my previous about the bike I was pretty with the looks and features of the specially when I compare the with what I saw at the 2008, Expo. But today I can say that though I was disappointed in the beginning, but I’ve no grudges about the

So let’s begin with the features and specs of the bike.

The is fitted with 134.60 cc engine producing a max Power of 10.2 PS @ 7500 rpm and a max torque of Nm @ 5000 rpm. The test I rode was Kick Start Drum variant having a weight of 113 kg.

The styling fit and finish of the bike is nice. In fact the styling of the specially the Digital Speedo the electronics assembly on the handle bar is than the Pulsar siblings.

from the styling, the bike has implemented the Auto Choke and Control Switches

The Head assembly, with it’s pilot lamps also refreshing along with horny visor 😉

One thing I very specifically noticed was the of the front number plate. It was on the front mud guard. Guess over did itself with the and patents, as it failed to implement already patented low front plate clamp implementation, the company implemented on the Bajaj XCD

So, going around the bike for a now it was time for the test ride.

The as expected was quite smooth and almost no effort to crank the to life. The engine note, for me was new. To me it sounded like the purr of a small kitten. The note was so low, that in you would have a hard listening to the engine note.

The 5 gearing is all front and the gear box was as a butter. Guess finally has cracked the puzzle to implement a smooth Gear Box.

One thing that awesome the bike, it the amount of pull it in a given gear, and the amount of the bike has. The Power:Weigth and the Torque:Weight ratio works magic for this bike. To the torque of the bike, I halted the at 5th gear to a stop and tried to the bike from a stop.

I was a howling engine note and engine seize. but to my utter the bike pulled itself there, with me (around 80 kg) it. Though it did put some effort but it did itself. That’s how well the torques are in this bike.

Being light, the bike is readily flick able, and is quite effortless. be it at speeds of or 80 kmph. Even though the chart says the max speed of the is 90kmph, but I felt the bike has all the built in that small house beneath the saddle to 110kmph.

So, after a quick here’s what I felt are the and negatives of the bike.

Bajaj XCD 125 DTS - Si

1) First and the Pull and Torque generated by the 134.60 cc DTS-SI engine. simply magical.

2) The aggressive of the bike.

3) The ride comfort. a perfect commuter seating loads of spice thrown in.

4) The very positive gear box

5) The engine note. I simply it.

1) The Tank fairing is completely and have no other purpose from being adding to the all styling of the bike.

2) I personally liked the design of the turn To me they look stupid and The design and implementation of the turn on the revamped Bajaj Discover 135 more sense as they use of the Tank Fairings.

3) The LED Tail design should have kept the same as on the XCD shown at the Expo.

Overall I found the new Bajaj XCD very appealing and a great for money for the Indian Commuter.
