1 of 50: 1988 Ducati 750 Paso Limited Edition

Post-Sale Update . After 14 bids on eBay, this Ducati Paso 750 Limited Edition sold for $2,550.

Released in 1986 and named after racer Renzo Pasolini, the Ducati Paso was a bike created from odd beginnings. Built during the tumultuous years when Ducati was owned by Cagiva, this bike was designed to compete with the up and coming Japanese superbikes of the time.

Designed by the famous Massimo Tamburini, this bike is as enveloped in plastic as it gets. The tire situation on this bike (pre-1991) was very interesting. For a while, the 16 inch front tires were NLA.

Only a few months ago, a company starting making replacements and pretty much has a lock on the market. You can find info on that here. A limited edition was produced in white instead of the usual red.

Only 50 of these examples were created, and all were brought to the United States.

This specific Ducati 750 Paso Limited Edition has under 12,000 miles, and is good shape. There’s a small battery issue and the choke lever is broken, but all fixes would be minor, leaving you with an excellent rider-quality Ducati. You’ll get the benefits of a new clutch, new chain, and new-ish tires/battery.

Find this Ducati 750 Paso Limited Edition for sale here on eBay with bidding up to $1,025 in Santa Cruz, California.

1 of 500 – 2006 Yamaha R1 Limited Edition

The Yamaha R1 Limited Edition was Yamaha’s celebration of its 50th anniversary. Taking their incredibly popular 1000cc sportbike as a platform, Yamaha produced a very limited run of only 500 bikes that were full of incredible extras and turning them into near-production racers.

Specific changes made for the Yamaha R1 Limited Edition include an homage to Kenny Roberts and the original Yamaha racing colors with the lovely yellow/black/white paint, custom front and rear Ohlins suspensions – developed by the same team that took care of the Yamaha MotoGP bike of the time, Marchesini aluminum wheels designed specifically for this bike, a slipper clutch, and an integrated lap timer.

This specific Yamaha R1 Limited Edition has an immediately noticeable visual change that might be a dealbreaker for some – the factory decals have been removed. Here at bike-urious we think it almost ruins the look of the bike, though decals can be sourced or re-created, and opportunities to buy a bike with a production run of 500 are scant.

The owner of this Yamaha R1 Limited Edition refers to it as his baby, though it seems he’s only owned it for a year. You can see the old listing here where he purchased this bike for around $7,000, so I’d be curious to know what’s changed in a year and why he’s asking for nearly $9,000 now. In addition to the factory extras, this bike has gained a fender eliminator, double bubble windscreen, frame and clutch sliders, and it comes with the original Limited Edition toolkit (numbered to match the bike)

Find it here on for $8,900 in Houston, Texas.
