Hot Tamale

Test by Chris Pics by Longy and JPM

I am surprised the doesn’t have electronic but not disappointed. I am a fan of electronically adjustable but I don’t see it as a necessity.

It does fully adjustable Marzocchi and, exclusive to Bimota, an Tech shock, or traction and unit in Bimota speak. never even heard of Tech but the company has done a job of the shock.

Brembo brakes are – it would be odd if they weren’t – and it a scant 164 kilos. I can’t you off the top of my head how this compares to an Ducati, or an Aprilia RSV4 for but I can tell you it’s very light.

Now to the engine. It’s an 1198cc engine from the Ducati It has four valves which are by Desmodromic principles. It’s got 170 and it goes very fast.

The engine needs no explanation in my and if you need any more info Google it. On track Two of us rode the at Eastern Creek, and between us 20 odd kilos variance.

‘Biggles’ softened the fork compression but toughen the shock for his two sessions.

He was with those settings but I rode the bike I found the ‘wallowed’ slightly during the from braking to entering the Not enough for me to bother about them though. The rear was fine.

Gearing as tested was for the road so it pulling wheelstands and such out of like it would if set up for track or racing.

I would have one tooth off the front sprocket but again it depends how you like bike to be – wild and woolly or predictable.

How … is that

It starts and sounds just an 1198 but does feel to ride. It’s very to explain, just a feeling I had on the I think this is due somewhat to the set up.

For example, I found the front end at full noise down the straight but ‘Biggles’ never rienced it. I guess it was down to my weight compressing the rear end took weight off the front. It felt like getting out of

One thing we both agreed on was the would lean over so far and want to suddenly tip in again. As the was fitted with road rather than race we didn’t want to explore part of the bike’s personality so rode it so hard.

The last I wanted was to crash this no insurance on the track and all that.

I the bike a fair workout but I out to do a Personal Best time if you what I mean.
