The Vyrus 987 C3 4V V Outpaces The Competition

The brand name Vyrus is relatively ‘new’ to motorcycle enthusiasts, though not for much longer. The introduction of the Vyrus 987 C3 4V V has caused quite a stir in motorcycle enthusiast circles, thanks to its ‘outrageous technology specifications’ and ‘top-of-the-line performance.’ This European bike boasts performance that out-performs other motorbikes in its spec range.

To put its performance into perspective, the Vyrus 987 C3 4V V is considered more powerful than the Ducati Desmosedici RR, Suzuki Hayabusa and Kawasaki ZZR1400. Its performance and power can be credited to the Ducati 1098R engine that sits inside its hub-center steered Bimota chassis. This set-up helps the vehicle output incredible horsepower—while only weighing around 339 pounds.

The $91,000 USD price, however, makes it one of the more expensive luxury bikes on the market. It’s not the price that’s raising eyebrows—it’s the innate speed possessed by this bike.

Building the Vyrus 987 C3 4V V

Brand owner Ascanio Rodorigo fostered the Vyrus 987 out of his ‘passion for detail.’ He longed for a ‘series of race bikes that gave him the sensation of a Race GP motorcycle with additional lights and a lateral stand.’

He desired to create a bike that featured both resilient and light parts, powerful enough to give the bike the performance most talk about today. These internal parts also feature controls constructed from modern computerized components, ensuring the bike’s efficient operation. The result of this vision was the Vyrus 987.

Perhaps one of the most talked about features is its weight. The weight is a big factor, since many bikes near its caliber weigh more while producing the same performance. Vyrus 987, on the other hand, is much lighter—around 339 pounds.

It’s easier to handle by most riders, though doesn’t compromise the performance that earned the bike series its popularity in the first place.

The variants of the Vyrus 987

Regarding the super-bike’s specifications, the Vyrus 987 C3 4V V is actually one of four different variants of the top-of-the-line Vyrus brand. The 987 C3 4V V, in particular, features the aforementioned ‘supercharged 211 bhp 1198cc 1098 Ducati engine.’

In addition to the top-of-the-line C3 4VV version, there are three other versions that offer a similar performance to their high performing counterpart.

The third variant (the 987 C3 4V) boasts a water-cooled 1098R 1198cc Ducati engine, which outputs around 184 bhp. As the first version of the C3 4V V, it costs around $77,500 USD.

The second variant (the 985 C3 4V) uses a 999R Testastretta Ducati engine that uses water cooling, weighing around 155 kg. Outputting 155 bhp, this model costs at least $70,500 USD.

The first or base model variant (the 984 C3 2V) uses a ‘two-valve 1000DS Ducati engine’ that uses air cooling, outputting around 100 bhp. Weighing around 150 kg, it costs around $47,000 USD.
