BMW R1150GS Sale

Use . High miles but excellent condition. The bike was owned by one ukGSer who put most of the miles on the bike (approx. 80K) riding to and from the south of France I understand. I bought it from a Londoner who owned it for 3 months and decided it was too big for his needs.

I have done a couple of short tours around the UK and used it to get out of London at the weekends. Also, for what its worth, I am a conservative rider and tend to stick around the mid-range and never used it off-road.

Storage . Always under cover and parked in garage.

Servicing . I always had it serviced by the highest recommended GS mechanic near London from the ukGSer forum. Will provide details on request. HUGE service history from BMW Motorrad North Oxford (first owner).

Work undertaken . nothing ever let me down on this bike except for once having to replace the clutch slave cylinder.

Panniers . BMW System Panniers. Pair repainted black (prior to my purchase) and in good condition with a few light scratches. + Spare left-hand side pannier that is a bit rougher, used around London to keep the other set in good condition.

Top Box . Givi Monokey. Two helmets can fit in here, not sure of the exact litre size. (small bit of red plastic chipped – shown in photo)

Tank cover . Dark grey leather Bagster cover. Ring holes for BMW logo. Extra padding for knees.

Tank bags . Bagster. Double bag system. Huge capacity. Built in waterproof shell. Take the small or the big one, or both zipped into each other. Map pouches on each one. Perfect, like-new condition.

Grips . Heated – BMW fitted, two temperature settings.

Tyres . Mitchelin Anakee 2s (front and rear). Dual-sport tyre. These constantly get the best reviews for handling in the wet, and they have the dual compound rubber, meaning the centre tread lasts longer. See photos for amount of tread left.

I have changed between the Tourances and the Anakees, and these are my preferred choice.

Center stand . small and simple custom adaptation to swing arm to stop the centre stand always knocking it as it swings up after use. (removable)

Toolkit . under seat, believe it is all original. (Oil filter tool included too)

Front mud guard extender

Lights . HID kit, high and low beam. This triangle of light makes such a difference filtering through traffic or on the motorway as people pull to the side quicker than on all my previous GSs without them. Orange lamp: fitted with a removable orange Perspex shield for the dipped beam.

I usually left it on to protect the lamp and get mistaken for an emergency services rider.

KN Air filter .

Kickstand . extender/foot.

Cylinder head protectors . these are not as good as proper steel crash bars, but they do offer some protection against a drop.

Screen extender – a bit of plastic is cracked, but not a problem. Has been like that the whole time I owned the bike and is a strong mount.

Usual flaking paint work on engine casing for bike of this age. Some more around rear hub of shaft.

Givi topbox – Tiny bit of red reflective plastic cracked and missing.

Cracked plastic right hand side cylinder head protector. Not a problem, but will be less effective. Cheap to replace.
