Moto Morini Kanguro i Dart

Most people tend to plump for one of the well-known Morini Sport or Strada models. Ali na suprotnim krajevima skale ćete pronaći super-elegantan Dart i rufty-Tufty Kanguro. Dakle, kako je Ken Philp pitanju imate oba?

Prvi put sam vidio Kanguro u Earls Court u 1982, i bio impresioniran kao što je bio off-road V-twin. Imao sam medicinski problem u 1984, tako otarasila nekoliko bicikala i kupio ovaj, prvi Kanguro koji NOP imao u radnji.

To je i dalje radio kad god sam htio da! To mi je dao mnogo zadovoljstva off-road, uprkos svoje težine, a ja sam Shortie – 5'5. Samo sam ga se otarasio u 2003 jer sam samo da 15% kapacitet pluća sada.

Ne mogu reći da je nešto što mi se ne sviđa o tome. Koristio sam ga za enduro, TRAIL-jahanje, Weston Beach Race, suđenja na daljinu, i tako dalje, i nekada pokrivala 720 kilometara u 20 sati na MCC događaj.

Ukupno sam prešao oko 16,000 milja. Nije bilo pravih problema, samo oni koji su bili moja krivica!

Svako kupnje Kanguro treba držati podalje od prvog X-modeli. X1 i X2 imaju cjevaste okvire, i X pukotine okviru na desnoj strani za noge tačke. X1 je pojačanje tamo.

Farova je samo direktne svjetlosti AC, tako izlaz zavisi od brzine motora. To je i svjetlosni sistem 6 volti, sa veoma malim baterije!

So I watched NLM unpack the first one they had from Harglo, and bought it straight away.

It’s a June 1990-registered Moto Morini Dart, so is now almost 16 years old. It’s got 54,000km on it and is still in very good condition. It’s had a few mods, all done by melike the right foot gearchange / left foot brake, a Honda NTV650 hydraulic adjuster on the rear Marzocchi monoshock, alloy tank, and handlebar raisers.

I also fitted it with a KN air filter, with suitable jet changes, and a Y-piece in the exhaust in place of the unobtainable expansion chamber, and a Micron exhaust can off a Ducati 750SS. The latter was done partly to reduce weight, partly to make it sound a proper V-twin! It’s also had extra spacers slotted in above the internal fork springs.

Without doubt, its best features are its looks, and performance. The Dart is not particularly fast (I’ve seen a max of 101.1mph on my digital cycle speedowhich is very accurate, by the way), but the handling is SUPERB! It’s also economical and has given 64mpg over its life (I have a record of all the fuel used from new).

It’s comfortable for a shortie, and it’s taken us on a couple of Continental tours two-up.
