Eddie, I know you love your Pantahs but seriously don’t you reckon whoever designed the fairing had not seen the rest of the bike before they started? Just looks like it came off something else. like an MZ from WW2 perhaps. sorry. o it’s possible that Cagiva borrowed the design from a previous bike, as they seem to have had a place for it (i.e. Ala Rossa, Ala Verde, etc.) but to my knowledge, the Ally’s setup was brand new for it. The frame is substantially identical to a Pantah 600/650TL. Notice the peg and exhaust hangers, compare them to the previously posted Pantah 500’s hangers and now this: http://www.dankelman.nl/images/Modellen/Ducati_TL600.jpg Look at the ...

2001 Cagiva Raptor 650 —

2001 Cagiva Raptor 650 Eastern Hemishpere, January 15, 2001 If history is to be believed, those polite and refined Italians — fine blokes that churn out design masterpieces by the truckload — were once a rowdy crowd. For ages, bloody battles raged between rival Kingdoms. Unfortunately, it seems that serious conflict between Varese and Bologna is once again looming on the horizon. The matter of dispute? The lucrative … bike market. Thou shall not take this lightly. The granddad of them all, the Ducati Monstro, brings in close to 70-percent of Ducati’s income these days. But Cagiva’s boss, Mr. Castiglioni, is not about to let the Bolognese people dig this gold ...

350/650 Though the dual-purpose Elefant initially seemed an unlikely recipient for the Pantah engine, it was to become one of the longest running of all Cagiva/Ducati models. Over many years it built a loyal following, particularly in Italy and Germany where large dual-purpose motorcycles have always been very popular. The Elefant also had a successful competition life in important desert races such as the Paris-Dakar and Pharaoh rallies. First displayed in 750-cc form at the end of 1983, this was the first 750-cc version of the Pantah engine in a production motorcycle. As with the 750 Fl, however, it was some time before the Elefant went into production. This prototype 750 was a high-specification ...

Cagiva Navigator 1000

The Navigator is based on Cagiva’s Gran Canyon trailbike, but with the engine replaced by Suzuki’s TL1000 engine. Cagiva’s own exhaust and intake system has produced an engine with lower peak power than the TL1000R, or Cagiva’s own Raptor 1000 (which also uses the TL engine). But the Navigator is still one of the most powerful trail-styled bikes available, and is comparatively light, giving it sharp performance. The V-twin engine allows for a narrow chassis and low air resistance for higher top speed. But while the small front-fairing looks good, it does not offer as much protection as some of the Navigator’s larger competitors. The soft suspension and strong brakes ...
