Vintage Trials: Trials Back Then

Trials Back Then As a child I was lucky enough to be brought up in a motorcycle orientated family. Father was Secretary of the local club and my uncle, a well known rider in all the sport’s disciplines, was the Chairman. Uncle Tom had been a road racer, grass track rider and of course a trials man. He owned a car/motorcycle/agricultural equipment dealership and sponsored many riders on the famous Arter AJS and Arter Matchless and one of his machines was the first to do the100 mph lap on a single cylinder in the Isle of Man TT races. Trials back then had a slightly different flavor as they took place on the public highway so you had to have a license and the machine had to be street ...

Sherco News Sherco Racing

2012 Sherco ST 2.9 Friday, October 14th, 2011 Sherco Racing was lucky enough to be in possession of the new 2012 Sherco 290cc during Trials Week. The 2 stroke 290cc arrived just in time for us to pick it up on our way through Canberra on the way to South Australia. The Sherco factory in Spain had managed to get it off the production line and on the boat before they closed for the annual European summer holidays so it would be here in time to show case at the Australian Championships. 2012 Sherco ST 290 For those of you who saw it at the South Australian Championships you may have noticed it was without graphics. This was due to the factory not having the new graphics finished prior to shipping ...

What Riders Say

« on: Today at 03:01:56 AM » Quote Hi all, I’ve just bought a 2013 250 seiR with 60 hours on it from a good source, it’s definitely been well looked after and not caned, I’m wondering if anyone has torn a well used (over 100 hours) 4 stroke down and measured all the tolerances? My local dealer, whose opinion I respect, said it will be fine until 150 hrs. I change the oil and every 9 hours and air filter every ride, always warm the bike up carefully, and never deliberately rev it really hard. I ride enduros and the odd cross country in the north of England at intermediate level for the most part, so in general the motor is not getting a hard time. I like to do my own ...

MotoGP preview: Valencia – Motorcycle news, reviews & riding tips – bikesales…

MotoGP preview: Valencia Can Marquez finally become the first rookie world champion since 1978? Or is the momentum now with Lorenzo after two straight wins? Venue: Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia Circuit: 4.005km; 14 corners, nine left, five right. ‘A circuit within a stadium’ is how they describe it and Ricardo Tormo certainly has superb viewing facilities. It’s named after a rider born locally who took world championships in the 50cc and 80cc classes before having his career ended by a freak accident that shattered his right leg. “Tight and slow but surprisingly flowing” is how Casey Stoner remembers it, and he should know: he scored his first GP win there on a 125cc Aprilia in ...

Jerez MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa claims shock pole position – Motorcycle Sport…

Jerez MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa claims shock pole position A rejuvenated Dani Pedrosa stormed to a shock pole position for his home race in Jerez tomorrow after a thrilling qualifying session for the Spanish MotoGP race. Just over one second split the top 11 on the grid but the field being headed by Pedrosa’s Repsol Honda RC212V was the first big shock of the 2010 campaign. The Spaniard had appeared stuck in a crisis going into this weekend’s Spanish MotoGP, with the triple world champion struggling to master handling on his factory V4 after he slumped to seventh in the season’s opening race in Qatar. But a new chassis with revised stiffness seems to have galvanised Pedrosa, who has ...

WG&DF MCC: Welsh 2 Day Enduro 2009

Ben’s Welsh The Welsh 2 Day Enduro has been attended by West Glos riders since its inception and part of its charm is the Lakeside start and the timeless atmosphere that pervades this event – the TT of enduro, if you like. Hell in the wet, enduro heaven in the dry. Vess was worried about some of the ditches, and tried a spot of water divining (see pic) Surprise number 2 – West Glos riders getting stuck, before the event even started. Ant bellied out the Haines transit in the deepest roadside ditch in Powys ...
