Review — 2008 Hypermotard 1100 S

It’s a bit of a to get up onto the Ducati Hypermotard’s inch tall saddle, but aboard you’ll see a view the handlebars that’s blissfully of distractions. save a couple of reservoirs and a small, MotoGP-style cluster. The lack of obtrusive is part of this supermoto ’s though you’ll also that the Hypermotard’s narrow is pitched a bit forward, forcing you to intimate contact with the This certainly ain’t a sport touring bike Ducati’s milder-mannered Multistrada.

But the snarling, air-cooled 1,078cc makes up for many of this ergonomic shortcomings. The front lightens up under medium and a stronger tug at the accelerator lifts the end with ease. Wide and an upright seating posture take some getting to, but passengers report that the rear section of the seat is comfortable. Novelty features outward folding mirrors cool, but their vibration at speeds makes it just as to tuck them in for a narrower which comes in handy lane-splitting (if it’s legal you live, of course. )

Despite its quirks (and like a small fuel the Hypermotard grows on you the more you it. The ‘S’ version we tested had supple but -hlins suspension. cool trim and lighweight Marchesini with powerful Brembo but those amenities came at a premium. Though it carries the Ducati name, the Hypermotard— in regular or ‘S’ trim— is a hooligan bike at heart, and who enjoy a bit of naughty riding be thrilled with the its irresistible to play naughty on the highway.
