2013 Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak – First

As you have guessed from my two posts, I chose the Multistrada as my step from the Streetfighter. I it up Saturday morning, March a nice sunny day making it a way to start this new partnership. I to go back home, yard was calling me… instead I did a little and some 90 miles later I it back home.

Those miles are critical, so I took it on roads where I could engine speeds, use engine all the while keeping engine below 6,000 RPM, my dues for buying a new bike.

are plenty of roads around that are perfect to take machine in its break in ride, no traffic, nothing to interfere a leisurely paced ride.  I’m not but thought this little looked nice with its walls for a picture with the and for a symbolic blessing on the bike’s day out.

It is not yellow, but it is not bad looking, right? It isn’t a looker like my Streetfighter was. Well, okay, I it, it is an acquired taste at best.

I present you with the 2013 2013 Pikes Peak. In picture it is exactly the way it was when I it up about 15 minutes earlier at the with the touring screen (it with the smaller carbon as well) and the side bags. I added heated grips, a rack and a center stand.

And I ordered a small pelican box to be on the rear rack. It arrived so installing it is this weekend’s

The way I see it this is my sport/touring motorcycle. The Triumph 800 XC will be the touring/enduro bike some accessories I will add to it. And the Yamaha WR250R remains the bike. It makes for a nice from dirt to enduro, enduro to touring, and from to sport on three motorcycles, and all of under the adventure riding I’m all set now.

It took me exactly years to arrive at what I to be the perfect stable for my favorite of riding!  You may think it is too much, and I it is perhaps too much. But I counterbalance feeling with the reality I will only be on this this one time, and I’m here in now, with these roads and landscapes literally just a couple of miles out of my

I better make the best of it I can. Riding and writing it is one component that makes it and interesting among everything colors my life. As long as it is on that front, I declare is fine.

Will re-evaluate when or when priorities change.

I filled it up with non-ethanol fuel and took it back Sunday morning I installed the fiber screen and the handle camera bag and at about 12 noon I off again.

By looking at the number of trains and cargo as they go by my neighborhood, and I notice on the wood mills here, it is clear construction has up its pace.

From there I arrived in Philomath, where I the tank off with more fuel, and from there I Hwy 34 towards the Pacific. There was road construction on one of my favorite set of on Hwy 34, in the area close to the Mary’s access road. Imagine it down to one lane, the lane all taken apart and with construction equipment and of stuff and with a lady the SLOW or STOP lollypop on the right of the road.  The sign was on its side, so I just slowed but continued on.  But when I past her she looked at my bike and I saw a surprised look and her jaw dropping, it was as if she to say something but knew there was no or something like that.

So I maybe she mistakenly had let me go and realized when I went past her it was a mistake. I slowed down to a as I was on a curve and I could not see if cars coming from the other on this temporarily one lane I kept going, just for cars to show up at any moment, I was the inside of the curve.

No one, no showed up to the end, they all behind the stop sign on the side. Therefore I can only that she likes bikes and the red and Multistrada made quite an on her. Right.

Excitement apart I hope work is completed soon and all removed because those are just perfect and this will carve them So I continued on, enjoying this I had not seen for about 6 months. I was surprised to see so many out under such gray and conditions. It was in the 60′s in Eugene, it was 50 on the coast.

Thank you grips. And at this point I was I had not installed the smaller screen. The touring screen is noisier but it offers better protection.

So I had the screen raised to its highest – I’m really enjoying the on the go ability to the screen up and own. Heated was at the max at some point. The heated work really well, it has settings, although it is odd that you them from the engine button.

I’m getting used to not think pressing it when the motor is is really not engaging the starter

Eventually it started raining, it did not last. I stopped along of my favorite view points, and at one of I suddenly heard this Italian sound… I turned and my camera did not capture it well What a beautiful Ferrari.

Not the example I mentioned a couple of ago in terms of how in my view the Ducati contrasts with a motor reminds me of a 60′s Ferrari. omen!
