Back in I fell in love with a black and gold Ducati This beauty was sitting on the floor at Rissman Motors in I couldn’t take my eyes, or off of it. I left the shop with a yearning in my heart for a black and Ducati. A few months later wasting time in Rissman again, I wandered outside to at used bikes. Mr.

Rissman out from the back of the shop an old Ducati Scrambler. It was in pretty shape overall, well but not abused. Around Albuquerque were plenty of places to a ‘Scrambler’ off road.

A ‘Scrambler’ is not a true off road generally they were as street bikes with a few such tires, fenders, the and maybe suspension, to allow the to venture off on a dirt road In the sixties many were for off road racing, I rode a 650 in the desert a few times (what a Scramblers evolved into and ‘Enduro’s’ evolved in what we now ‘Dual Sports’.

Back to the Scrambler in Albuquerque. I was really in the bike. I asked Mr. Rissman of questions, walked around it a dozen times, sat on it and was asking if I could convince the wife to let me add motorcycle to the already too cramped

I had a good dirt bike, so I use that as a reason, I had a couple of street bikes so I didn’t it for transportation, it didn’t need in the way of restoration and I still had a project that I hadn’t touched in two how was I going to do this?

The next I rode my motorcycle to work and I was supposed to be out working, I stopped by the shop to see if I could finagle a on the little Ducati. It didn’t any more than asking to go for a ride. “Ride it all you want, I at 5″. I did the rest of my sales calls day on that Ducati Scrambler.

In all honesty, I didn’t do many calls and when I did have to go the office to get a demo tape for a I just happened to pull the parking lot at the same time as my He looked at the bike, looked at me, at the bike and said he liked one better than my other and walked into the station.

Well, I didn’t buy the bike but ridden a couple over the and each time I do it brings good memories and a small of desire to look for one that some love. Today on I found a really nice ’66 that is in really good and just needs a couple of to make it original. First the stuff, the owner has put quite a lot of and new parts on the bike; battery, handlebars, fork seals and

The bike has been painted (the logo and stripes are on, not stickers), it’s got the correct and according to the owner “runs and very nice”. Here’s is wrong, not really wrong, but if you it to be original you will need to a couple of things. The head and light aren’t the originals they work) and you need the The muffler really doesn’t do but it’s going to be easier on ears and, your

The owner has posted a video of the starting and running on his ebay I think this is a neat bike that will fit well into a collection or be plain old fun to ride. Oh, one thing these Ducati singles…change the lot and don’t forget to clean out the trap.
