Wheelsmith (Factory Pro’s RD has a lot of experience tuning Ducatis. 30 years.

Starting in the old days of tuning — Factory Pro 748r and 996 SPS specific chips worked well at both throttle / 3000 rpm and also throttle / high rpm all without injectors. Even Ducati fix them.

But Factory Pro solved the puzzles.

In the new Factory Pro assisted Tuneboy in initial software and hardware for the stock ECU. Some apps work well.

on the non DTC 848, the most common of tuning and my suggestion, is with a replacement ecu. The Microtecs with maps that worked well on the bike were developed on, but isn’t to be perfect for any another bike but at least it will run.

A tuned Microtec equipped 848 is smooth and with tweaks to the that makes initial application much smoother and pull harder than the generic Microtec mapping. simply not possible to expect every 848 wants the same

Why Wheelsmith / Factory Pro Tuning?

A lot of facilities just use a $50 wideband O2 and tune to some Air Fuel (you can blame dynojet for — but a few dyno facilities actually test different positions and rpms for Best and factor that with Smoothness for optimal fuel and settings. Factory Pro uses the EC997 and either a 4 gas or 5 gas analyzer. The EC997 reads both Realtime HP and and all the gas readings. Fuel and ignition are at each point and based on the gas values, fuel and ignition are to empirically derive Best mapping.

It’s a far superior than tuning the engine to AFR and calling it a day.

Is it superior the to an AFR? Well, yes — Pro was the unbiased choice of privateer AMA and the choice of Vesrah racing and (untill cxvvMotorsports.

To the suspense down, a Microtec ecu is $1000 and tuning is $775. about an hour to install and 3 to 5 to tune.

In comparison, a pc3 or pc5 is about and tuning (fuel only) is — but you can’t get anything the power and drivability results with a custom tuned by Factory Pro.

Hope all is with you. I had a chance this past weekend to the bike for a real ride some of the hills down

By the way, I’m loving the and your (EC997 dyno) I get the power of my Race ECU and then minus the stalling issues. It can all day until the gas runs out.
