Ducati has released several types of motorcycles are categorized in this type of monster. From the design, at first glance the bike does not look any different, but have different engine specifications. But at the Monster 1100 and the Monster 1100 S has the same specification engine, but there are some differences. In the Monster 1100 front suspension uses Showa 43mm fully adjustable upside-down forks, while the Monster 1100 S uses Ohlins 43mm fully adjustable upside-down forks with TiN.

The Monster 1100 S has the engine type: L-Twin cylinder, 2 valves per cylinder Desmodromic, air cooled, 1078 cc. The machine has to have gearbox 6 speed transmission and can issue a power of 69.8kW – 95hp @ 7500rpm, and torque of 10.5kgm – 75.9lb-ft @ 6000rpm. Fuel injection system using Siemens electronic fuel injection, 45mm throttle body. On the chassis, the Monster 1100 S using tubular steel Trellis frame, with a wheelbase of 1450mm (57.1 inches).

Front suspension uses 43mm Ohlins upside-down fully adjustable forks with TiN, while the rear suspension uses progressive with preload and rebound adjustable Ohlins monoshock. In the braking system, front brake using 2 x 320mm discs with 4-piston radial caliper, while the rear brakes use a 245mm disc with 2-piston caliper. For the legs, the Monster 1100 S using Y-shaped rim with 5-spoke in light alloy, which has a size of 3.50 x 17 inches on the front, while the back using 5.50 x 17 inches.

Rims are wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tires sized 120/70 17-inch on the front, while the back using a 180/55 size 17 inches. In the journey, the Monster 1100 S has a fuel tank capacity is large enough that as much as 15 liters (3.8 gallons) / 13.5 liters (3.6 gallons) ABS version.
