EICMA 2012: 2013 Hypermotard Gets New 821cc Engine

Ducati is streamlining its Hypermotard for 2013, replacing its air-cooled  796 and models with a new 821cc Hypermotard. Announced at the 2012 Show in Milan, Italy, the now includes the Hypermotard, the Hypermotard SP and the touring-oriented Hyperstrada which you can about in a separate post.

to ever tightening environmentally-friendly the new generation of Hypermotards come with a new 821cc version of Testastretta V-Twin engine. The has three ride modes: Touring and Urban. According to the the Sport mode offers an of 108hp at 9250rpm. The Touring also claims 110hp its power curve is better for longer distance travel. The mode restricts power to 74 hp, at 9250rpm.

The Hypermotard SP also has a seat height (35 inches 34.2 inches) but an accessory will be available that the height by 0.78 inches.

The 2013 Ducati Hypermotard is in Ducati Red or Dark Stealth red trellis frame for $11,995. The SP is a pricier option at $14,695 and it be available in Ducati Corse white and black with trim and a red trellis frame.
