In the hands of one Frenchman, began life as a mild-mannered 1098S Superbike, has turned a water-cooled Hypermotard that do the engineers in Bologna proud. to us only as “Krisfox”, this was looking for more than the streetbike experience. Wishing to see the powerful water-cooled 1098 in a motard format, he set out to make one of his dubbed the Hypermotard 1098S.
Pictures and more after the
The bike is built around the 1098 frame and motor, but pretty much where the stop. Since the Hypermotard and accessories do not bolt-up to the 1098 Krisfox had to custom fabricate every other part. crafting all the bodywork from and clay, the HM 1098S was finally in beautiful carbon fiber which were painstakingly to accommodate the bevy of parts bike boasts.
For instance, things like the gas had to be re-built, which allowed for to be made. As such, the HM 1098S’s now holds over 4.8 gallons, should be good for more a jaunt down the road. things go faster are a custom with carbon air intakes and a of undertail style Akrapovic cans help expel the gases.
These parts bring the power figured into the range, and with a 169kg weight, that’s nearly a 1:1 ratio. Completing the look of the is a carbon fiber chin, à la Streetfigher, making this a looker and a power house.

The HM would not be complete without aftermarket goodness, and as such RT forks have been up front, while an Öhlins TTX in the rear gives this some of the best street money can buy. Helping off the unsprung weight are carbon BST clad with Pirelli Supercorsa tires. To stop all two-wheeled goodness, radial mono-bloc brakes have employed, thus completing the Trinity of aftermarket motorcycle (Öhlins, BST, Brembo).
How does it ride? According to the
“It accelerated like a ball. In corners it has crazy handling a 600 supermoto, and on the road its like a SBK…I am thrilled, I realized the of my dreams.”
If rumors are true about phasing out its air-cooled two-valve we very well could be into the future of the Hypermotard we like it.
