My 800 Supersport power mods.

I this on the .ms board, so bale out now if already read it.

I removed the ‘crap’ (what seems 2lbs of hose and canisters) a TPOparts kit, opened my air box and to a KN, put on Leo Vince cans, and installed a Power Commander tuned a custom map.

Much goes out to Frank over at Motorcycles, West Babylon, NY.

I thought Frank was primarily a guy, but over the past I’ve come to find he’s got years of working on in general and actually used to be a mechanic. Anyway, he knows he’s doing and he’s at what he does. Also, extremely fair and competitive his pricing and heck, I guess I’d to say, he’s even of a nice guy. (okay, there it is. Now, pay up!)

Ducati claims peak at 77hp @ 8250 rpm and 54 ft-lb @ rpm. Pale in comparison to any but if I was looking to do THAT kind of I would not have bought bike! Plus, I have no where or how Ducati comes up those numbers. I had no idea my bike would figure to Ducati’s numbers, either. My was to optimize MY bike.

I wanted to get my bike to do what it do and then enjoy it for what it is. And it is a bike with no intent to for a track in the foreseeable future.

So, rambling on too much more, are the numbers:

(Stock) SAE hp = 71.5 and = 50.8 / actual hp = 75.6 and = 53.8

(Mapped) SAE hp = 77.4 and = 56.3 / actual hp = 81.5 and 59.3

Rough estimate return hp = % and torque = 11 % increase.

Other I’ve learned from are:

P eak RPM is 8250. Where I to shift at +/-7250 because it felt right, now I know I can go further, and how far

There is deffinately a at 9100. I wasn’t sure but now I am.

However, peak torque is at 5900 and not 6500. At least, is what my bike is.

I love the of the pipes and open breather. As we all know, there’s nothing that low, throaty, Ducati L-twin sound.

And now for the, as Frank likes to it, the AssDyno results. As soon as I off, I NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE! The felt smoother and even of that low-rev, under 3k lugging went away. running with the original still.) The bike actually more powerful and again, I love the added torque, in the lower gears, but couple the additional power with the sound, I’M HAPPY. It feels a different bike.

I like it! My likes it a lot. (Speaking of I ordered a custom seat Sargent.)

I’ve only put about 30 on it because it’s been cold out still. That and the home was followed by my wife and old son who drove me to Powerhouse to pick the up. But after it warms up a little push it alittle more and again.

Thanks Frank! The thing is a relatively inexpensive mod and I recommend custom mapping if running with a power (they’re worth it). him a call if you’re in the tri-state
