2011 Hero Honda Review — Test

It’s been pouring and facelifts in the Hero Honda’s A week back, Deepak and I discussing about these and that is when, we decided to test these bikes for our and throw more light on You saw a few images of 2011 Hero Hunk uploaded by Deepak Right?

That’s the same I test rode for BikeAdvice.

I own a Gladiator and when I took the of my bike a couple of years I still remember the analog cluster showing that the 8 in the last part of it which that my Gladdy had run 0.8 km before I my hand on her.

But, Hunk got down from the just before an hour, got up with front bumper, guard, etc. and headed to BikeAdvice office. I’ve ridden a bike as new as this

The look of the 2011 Hero Hunk impressed me to a certain but it evidently revealed the fact it was not very different from her – the old Hunk. Visually, the headlamp has undergone a slight plastic to get a muscle bike touch and I say that Hero Honda has in its attempt as well.  This is the visible of all the minor changes this bike has been with.

What impressed me in this is its instrumental cluster. Hero prefers it being called Speed Panel, which is a of both analog and digital There is only a slight of digital effect and the rest of the is dominated by analog devices

Though it’s not completely as I’ve been telling, it really macho in terms of The tachometer dominates the cluster its bigger dial.  The border of entire cluster is chrome adding to its gorgeousness.

And you know the 2011 Hero Honda has a clock too apart from 2

The LED tail light is not so catchy. The is that the brightness is very low with the other LEDs in the

As in the case of 2011 Karizma there are pinches of Astra every here and there.  The shocks and the GRS suspension are Astra touched and looks very and decent.

There are too much of in every single Hunk. In the red we rode, most of the body is red coloured, the grab rail and the above the tail light in a of greyish black matte and the muffler cover is glossy in colour. I would call it a Colour Play.

The body mirrors are cool enough to attention. The side air intake remind the Yamaha Gladiator.

Now get to the riding impression of the Hunk. I the bike and the first surprise right there for me. A mere with a slight force is than enough to ignite bike.

It’s pretty similar to we refer to as ‘Feather Touch’. impressive.

Right here, the cc, Air Cooled, Single cylinder comes alive. The engine is of producing a maximum power of KW @ 8500 rpm and similarly a maximum of 12.8 N-m @ 6500 rpm. The pick-up of this bike is at par the other fierce warriors in the

When it comes to the gearbox, the 5 gearbox is not as slicker and sharper the Yamahas. There was this in the previous Hunk as well. it’s not irritating to use it, Hero engineers could have on it a little more.

But still, fine.

At 146kg, this is not heavy to handle and is easy to use in manoeuvring too. The riding in this bike has nothing to talk about. As we have seeing, the seat of Hunk is different from the other

It’s not exactly split but the height between the area for the and the pillion rider is really

I rode this bike within the city limit as as in the highway. The drawback with seat which I observed was it’s ideal for short within the city. But, it comes to long drives in the you can’t adjust yourself the way you because your seat end right behind your

The small advantage is that it backrest for the bottom of your

The one which I rode was the single variant of Hunk. There is the option of choosing with in both, front as well as in the The front disc is of 240mm is really small and offers poor braking experience; an worth concern.

The Nitrox GRS Reservoir Suspension) offers suspension in the rear. To mention its tyres, both are fitted MRF Zapper tubeless tyres and decent road grip. The 5 alloy looks cool and perfectly with the looks of bike.

And above all, guess the Hero Honda Hunk has no to start the bike. Wow!

The tank in Hunk can hold litres of petrol with a capacity of 2.2 litres which is for a 150cc bike.

There are few drawbacks, I observed with bike. The Hunk doesn’t have an Engine Kill . Almost all bikes today equipped with one. For like me who are used to using switch in traffic signals to off the bike, it is pretty hard to get to it.

I don’t know why isn’t switch present. That area of the is vacant anyways.

The next is, the way the stand is placed. It becomes a task to get the side stand while parking. The front are retractable and needs to be folded to use the could have been designed.

Overall, if you want a powerful and city commuter, this is an bike to go with. But, if you a tourister kind of performance, Before You Leap’ is all that I tell you! But if you have one no regrets
