After a five-year Honda’s middleweight CBR600RR gets a re-fresh for ’13. The CBR600RR  features new front wheels, and quite literally, a in effort to keep up with new from Japan and Europe.

Over the years we’ve thousands of miles on Honda’s and it’s really hard to any fault with the way it performs on the or track. In fact, in our most 2011 Super-sport Shootout IX Track  test, the CBR finished in spite of being one of the oldest in the contest. Still Big Red aims to the handling performance by fitting current generation Big Piston technology.

The suspension technology is to what’s used on the 2012-plus employing larger diameter in each fork leg. The piston surface area damping pressure to be reduced yet retains an equal level of This reduces initial under load (braking) and smoother, more controlled especially in the initial part of travel.

Furthermore the BPF uses fewer which reduces weight. The continues to offer three-way for spring preload (now at the bottom of the fork leg via a hex key) compression and rebound adjustment are atop the blue anodized caps. New 12-spoke cast wheels complement the suspension however it’s unclear if the are any lighter than the three-spoke they replace.

The face of the CBR is also new and said to be from Honda’s factory team. The front fairing has a nose and the halogen headlamps been positioned more together. The windscreen is claimed to be and the shape of the tank was also for improved rider interaction braking.

The bottom and tail were also tailored for air flow. Lastly a new LED-style was fitted.

For the most part the drivetrain is with the exception of updated and fuel-injection tuning aimed at bottom-to-mid-range engine performance. from that the 599cc Inline-Four engine is unchanged.

The new CBR be available in three colorways Repsol Edition; White/Red/Blue) and be available in U.S. dealerships 2013. An ABS-equipped version also be available (in Red only) at an As of this post the prices been announced but expect it to be above this year’s ($11,540).
