Dark Synergy Springs

taken from Dark old web site: Operating Range 200 degrees F higher than the OEM clutch springs. Engineered the lowest possible spring for a smooth pull and positive and with the precise installed needed to ensure minimal slippage. Extends clutch and Improves clutch performance. No clutch fade! Outperforms OEM and market clutch springs.

As of 2012. maybe earlier, Dark Synergy has their name to Performance I had heard through the grapevine they no longer made ATV springs and their remaining was sold to Tokyo Mods. I had heard that the Dark MOD springs were actually Synergy LTR-450 springs.

I ordered a set of Tokyo Mods clutch springs and they NOT the Dark Synergy MOD springs. were much shorter. and not sure if they have the heat resistant coating. In 2012, I contacted Rob at Performance and he informed me that they no longer making Dark springs and they had no leftover

HD 250R Springs

I’ve mixed reviews on the HD 250R springs. some have they cause coil and need to be modified to fit. say they are a drop in spring. but has said you’re left will look like after using them for a I wouldn’t recommend using the HD clutch springs unless you what you’re doing.

My Setup Experience

Currently, I’m using an OEM CRF450R clutch in my bike with the Dark Synergy MOD springs. The CRF clutch was recommended to me by Michele Manshack told me the CRF clutches have a thicker and outer fiber and they up well on their builds. and we all RAGE can build some

Note: there is no judder in the CRF kit. I purchased the CRF clutch kit on for $135 with shipping available at Service Honda) and the Synergy MOD springs were $60 shipping. I’ve gone one OEM TRX450R clutch and two TUSK in my bike, so paying a little money for a setup that last was definitely worth it to me. 95% of the I do is on pavement where there is a load on the bike.

The CRF clutch with Dark MOD springs seems to be holding up with my mid 50’s HP stock build.

Update to the above for After 3-4 years of abuse, the CRF fibers and plates were much smoked. the OEM clutch was also notched pretty So I put a brand new OEM 2006 CRF450R back in it with the brand new Synergy/Performance Spring MOD clutch and a new Hinson billet aluminum basket. We’ll see how this holds on an upper 50’s HP bore/… build with a lot of dirt drags and pavement/trail

Honda TRX450R

Update to the above for 2013: year’s setup held up well and the clutch basket great. For this year, I to go ahead and put another brand new OEM CRF450R clutch back in the with the same Dark MOD (LT-R450) clutch springs they don’t make any longer). And, since my is pretty much a dedicated bike now, I decided to add a Drive Lockup (see below).

Dad’s Clutch Setup

My Dad is using a Rocky Mountain ATV clutch in his bike with the Dark Synergy springs. His is a bit easier to pull and has been up well with his build to high 40’s HP stock

Update to the above for 2012: hundreds of hours of riding, the clutch is smoked. and the OEM cutch was notched. A brand new RMATV clutch (with judder mod), Dark Synergy/Performance MOD clutch springs, and a new Hinson aluminum clutch basket be going into Dad’s rebuilt stock bore/…/carb Dad’s build will be 50’s HP.

Update to the above for 2013: waiting on Dad to tear up his current setup enough to replace it. got a brand new OEM 2006/2007 CRF450R waiting for his bike. Maybe he smoke his clutch soon he added a few more HP/TQ to his this year.

We run red bottle HP 80/85W transmission oil exclusively in bikes.

Below are the part for the OEM 2006/2007 CRF450R Clutch. The kit (06001-MEN-001) comes with needed. I provided the part for everything that is contained the clutch kit in case anyone to buy the parts separately.
