And finally: a Honda motorbike concept.

The Los Angeles auto show will open to the public Dec. 4 through Dec. 13. Its media days started Wednesday.

Here are some of the vehicles you’ll see:

Honda’s P-NUT, or "Personal-Neo Urban Transport," has four seats, lots of glass, plenty of space inside, the footprint of a micro car on the outside and a rear engine.

Honda says its EV-N electric concept, introduced at the Tokyo show,is suitable for short-distance driving.

Designers often give a cube-like shape to an electric vehicle to accentuate that it doesn’t have a gas engine and doesn’t need to look like a typical car.

But Honda purposely gave EV-N a front that looks like it can fit an engine, although all that’s there beneath the hood is a trunk.

Honda is focusing on hybrids at the Toyko show, at the end of October. It is showing a model of the CR-Z that is supposed to go on sale next year. And it is presenting the six-seater Skydeck, seen here, which is still just a concept.

Honda’s Puyo concept is coated with silicon and takes pedestrian safety to the next level. A small bump leaves both pedestrian and car without a scratch.

Honda hopes its CR-Z concept shows that hybrids don’t have to sacrifice muscle and looks to be environmentally friendly.

Mugen is a famed Honda customizer.

The Honda Element-D was built for the racing sport of drifting. The Element-D has an engine that produces 500 horsepower.

Honda’s Sport Concept CR-V includes aerodynamically styled front and rear bumpers along with a sports suspension package that lowers the vehicle.

The Scorched Orange Metallic and matte black Honda Fit Sport Extreme Concept features an aerodynamically styled front bumper fascia with carbon fiber components along with HID fog lights and LED daytime running lights.

Honda has released the FCX Clarity fuel-cell car, the production version of its fuel-cell car.

The Honda Pilot prototype, similar to the model that will debut in the spring, has a redesigned crossover SUV platform and more legroom.

The Pilot also has fuel-saving cylinder management technology that operates in 6-cylinder mode for power, and 4- and 3-cylinder modes for fuel efficiency.

Honda tweaked its Fit to provide a slightly roomier interior.

Honda plans to sell a new gas-electric hybrid in the USA, Japan and Europe starting in early 2009.

The exterior design of the new model — to be sold solely as a hybrid, and not as a traditional, gasoline-powered car — is based on its wedge-shaped FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. Several dozen of the fuel cell-powered five-passenger sedans will be leased in the United States this July and in Japan in the fall.

A few dozen FCX vehicles will be leased to customers starting in July.

It is neither ritzy nor a classic, but the new Honda Fit may be the most practical in these days of $3.72 a gallon gasoline.

The redesigned 2009 Honda Fit is set to go on sale Aug. 26 with a starting price of $14,550.

Honda says the new hybrid-only Insight concept, debuting next month at the Paris show, is "close" in appearance to the production model, to go on sale in the U.S. next spring.

It is expected to be one of the cheapest cars in the next generation of gas-electric hybrids.

The Insight will hit the world market early next year.

Honda’s FC Sport design study model is a hydrogen-powered, three-seat sports car concept.

The FC Sport features an ultra-low center of gravity, powerful electric motor performance and zero-emissions.

"The Honda FC Sport explores how to satisfy automotive performance enthusiasts in a world beyond petroleum," says Dan Bonawitz, vice president of American Honda Motor.

Honda will also show a production model of the 2009 Insight hybrid.

Honda is ending production of the S2000 (2009 CR edition show here).

The Detroit Free Press says the end of S2000 production with the 2009 model year will leave Honda without a sporty open-topped or rear-drive model for the first time since 1992.

Honda says it was just going to be a limited-edition tribute to Honda’s 50th anniversary, but the S2000 stuck around.

Times have been tough lately. According to Autodata, S2000 sales in 2008 fell 41% from 2007.

Karla Dawes sits in Honda’s new hybrid car, the Honda Insight, at its Southern Hemisphere debut.

Honda says it received a total of 10,000 unit orders in the first 11-day period after starting to sell the Insight in this month.

Honda’s Asimo the robot unveils the automaker’s Insight hybrid car during the first media day of the 79th Geneva Car Show.

Honda said this week the 2010 Insight will arrive at U.S. showrooms starting March 24 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $19,800 for the base LX model.
