Honda VFR 1200F has been introduced recently for sports bike lovers across the world. The majestic animal has awesome cosmetic and components that make it a super-sports bike. The Honda VFR 1200F is the elder brother of all VFR bikes from Honda.

This is not only a sports bike but comfortable sports tourer and street bike. In India, it will be brought as a CBU unit and would be priced accordingly.

The Honda VFR 1200F has been equipped with a massive liquid cooled 76 degree, V-4, SOHC, four valve per cylinder with a displacement of 1237cc. The giant powertrain of Honda VFR 1200F pumps out a top power of 170 bhp at 10,000 rpm and belts out a peak torque of 129 Nm at 8750 rpm. The big cat has got six speed transmission with optional dual clutch transmission (manual and automatic gears).

Honda VFR 1200F features a larger number of unique and innovative technologies in it. The company has blessed it with most advanced brakes and suspensions. The front brake is 2, three piston Nissin calipers, 320mm discs with CBS/ABS linked system while the rear one is two-piston Nissin caliper, 276mm disc with CBS/ABS. The suspension system is up-to-date.

The front fork is 43mm telescopic type with 120mm of wheel travel and rear fork is pro-link shock with 130mm wheel travel. Both forks are preload an rebound damping adjustable.

The latest offering from Honda, Honda VFR 1200F, has patented dual layer fairing that catch your attention all the way. The fairing not only ensure better cooling of the engine by allowing air towards the mill but also provide protection to the rider as well. Honda VFR 1200F has got big hood with longer and wider wind screen. The animal is gifted with stylish rear view mirrors with LED turn indicators.

The Honda VFR 1200F comes with full digital dashboard, comfortable seat, new design silencer and well carved tail side.

Honda VFR Designing

The company has not disclosed the overall dimensions of the Honda VFR 1200F. However, the wheelbase of Honda VFR 1200F is available that is 1545mm. The seat height is 825mm.

You feel yourself in the bike when drive the machine rather than on the bike feel.

Honda VFR 1200F is claimed as one of the most exciting motorcycles in Honda’s history, has got wider and fatter tyres. The machine has eye-catching seven spoke alloy wheels. The 17 inch cast aluminium alloy wheels size is 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 190/55 ZR17 (rear).

Due to the higher size wheel base, tyre grip of Honda VFR 1200F becomes great and ensure superb stability on road.

The Honda VFR 1200F has bigger engine, bigger panels, bigger mask and the list goes on and on. Though most of the components are bigger but the engineers of the company did well to design a compact machine by adjusting them in a unique manner.

Honda VFR 1200F has been fitted with dual layer fairing that is a very new thing for biking world. Honda already got a patent for this fairing. The fairing is there for two purpose one is to ensure enough air flow towards the engine and second is to provide safety to the rider.

Interestingly, fairing has any grapchics or logo sticker. Only the rear end of front fairing is having VFR 1200F sticker.

The mask of the Honda VFR is bigger and looks like as if a tribal king has his crown on. This giant mask has huge wind screen, wider casing and mounted rear view mirrors. The rear view mirrors come with inbuilt front turn indicators. Behind the larger wind screen, a digital dashboard is placed.

The dashboard of Honda VFR 1200F is designed in a unique way in which tachometer comes in round shape at the middle and speedometer, tripmeter, fuel gauge and other indicators are placed at both sides in rectangular boxes. Common indicators are in green, yellow and red shade in round button size shape.

The fuel tank of the Honda VFR 1200F is bigger and possesses black strip at the top. Anti-scratch pad is also added to the tank. The rear side shape of the tank is sleek that ensure better knee-recess for the rider.

The seat is attached to the fuel tank. The rider seat is lower than tank and pillion seat is totally raised for better grip. Lower seat for the rider ensures greater grip on handlebars and footpegs. For the comfort ot the passenger, a two-piece horn shaped grab bars are added. Just behind the passenger seat, LED tail lights are located.

Rear turn indicators are also merged in the tail light cluster.

The rear side view of the Honda VFR 1200F is just amazing and distinctive. It has razor sharp rear fender. The silencer of the Honda VFR is bigger in width but compact.

It does produce the bigger bike like sound and you can feel the energy. The sports bike has fatter tyres and 7 spoke alloy wheels. Single side swing arm is located under the seat which is not easily seen from sides.

The bike doesn’t sports center-stand however you can get it fit as an accessory.

Honda VFR Engine And Performance

Honda VFR 1200F comes loaded with a heavy engine but in compact size. The displacement of the engine is 1237cc. Whereas the engine type is liquid cooled 76 degree, V-4, four valve per cylinder, SOHC.

This phenomenal powertrain produces a maximum power of 170 bhp at 10,000 rpm and generates a top torque of 129 Nm at 8750 rpm. It has got 18.5 litres of fuel tank.

The V-4 system and dual clutch transmission of Honda VFR reduce fuel consumption and boost performance. The four cylinders are selectable and become active when low load condition is there and ensure less fuel usage. This system is there in higher-end four wheelers and results are interesting.

When the cylinders are closed the machine behaves like a 600cc bike that enhance fuel economy.

Honda VFR 1200F comes with light weight and compact 1237cc engine. This 1237cc machine produces a top power of 170 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 129 Nm of peak torque at 8750 rpm. Honda VFR 1200F is to come in two variants viz, manual and dual clutch transmission.

The machine incorporates Throttle By Wire for next-generation throttle response.

The company has assembled the Honda VFR with some of the latest technology for greater power, performance and acceleration that includes symmetrically coupled Phase-shift Crankshaft that uses 28-degree crankpin offset to eliminate primary engine vibration. Honda VFR Braking And Handling

Honda VFR 1200F houses industry best braking system that ensure superb handling and control. The front brake is dual full-floating 320mm discs with CBS six-piston calipers with ABS whereas the rear brake is single 276mm disc with CBS two-piston caliper with ABS. ABS stands for anti-lock braking system. ABS is the latest technology for brakes nowadays.

Slipper clutch is also available for Honda VFR 1200F which can be used under hard braking. 1545mm of wheelbase and single side swing arm contribute to chassis rigidity and ultimate balance of the machine.

Honda VFR 1200F comes with most advanced suspension system that is seen in MotoGP bikes only. The front shock absorber is 43mm cartridge shocker with spring preload adjustability; 4.7 inches of wheel travel while the rear one is Honda Pro Arm® single-sided swingarm with single gas-charged shock delivers cutting-edge rear suspension action; features handy remote spring preload adjuster, rebound damping adjustability and 5.1 inches of wheel travel.

You can’t notice the rear shocker from rear or side view as it is located under the seat. The suspension provides support to the chassis and balance Honda VFR 1200F when high speed or bad roads were there.

Honda VFR Colors

The Honda VFR 1200F has unique cosmetic and overall design. The latest edition of the Honda VFR 1200F is in red colour. The body colour is painted at front fender, fuel tank and front fairing.

Rest of the body is in black and a few components are in chrome finish. Rear view mirrors and rear grab rail are in black shade.
