No man I am serious, I choose at the bottom for two polls, I put the names in for option 1 and option 2 and I got nothing. What did I do wrong theres no poll?

Is that what you meant? But if your talking about the 700 shoot-out above some guy attacked me (not really) on another forum becasue I recommended a Raptor over the Honda. Go figure on a Honda forum. Anyways I am really curious which one is faster.

It was kinda pointless. Here someone was asking what to buy and it went a lil like this:

(me)Raptor 700 All day long. I like Honda but would never consider a 400ex over a Raptor. The Honda 700xx is way to heavy.

(Him)I like the 700 raptors too, however to suggest the raptor and say the 700xx is too heavy is kind of rediculous. All Raptor weights Ive seen are dry, the 700xx is ready to ride. The only extra weight is the IRS on the Honda and lets see. does 50 lbs matter that much? and engine based on the raptor 660 or one based on the XR650.

I know which one Im picking.

Keep in mind I dont own a 700xx but Ive gone duning with guys on both and the 700xx at $4K new out the door (all over craigs) is hard to beat. Its $4K because of stupid negative claims against it. I go to Glamis monhly with a stock 700xx owner who would be more than happy to prove these points. he has no problem hangin with my 450r (except climbing hills, his beer gut also has +50lbs) once up to speed.

(my response)Well I just figured that he would want something more sporty. The fully independent suspension probably rides like a dream but the Raptor with the rear Swing Arm is gonna have better performance handeling. There really two almost totally different machines and I think they got that bad rap because people are trying to compare them to the raptors.

Dont get me wrong there still sporty and nice machines but not as much of a race bike if you will. Yes im sure its a great machine for a long baja race but would you want to run that machine on a XC style track.

The Yamaha 700 Wet is 422lbs, Honda 700 curb (wet) is 505lbs. That is a difference of nearly 80 pounds which in my opinion is a significant amount, almost 20% heavier. ( weights pulled from manufactures current website )

Keep in mind too the Honda 700xx is selling so low NEW becasue no one is buying them. Same for the 450r. No 2010 models were produced becasue of an overstock on showroom floors and warehouses. The Raptor 700 did produce a new 2010 model (really only color I think)

I have not ridden a 700xx but I would be willing to bet the Raptor is faster ( assuming equal riders and weight and etc. )

Cant go wrong with either machines, pretty much what i’m saying is if I were in his shoes I would hands down purchase a Raptor 700. And it would be a used one on Craigslist in the price range of $3,400 for a slightly used 06-07.
