The All New Honda — A Racers Dream

another new celebration for the ATV world! has released the all-new 2004 ATV Source was able to be part of the few who invited to Lake Whitney, for a test evaluation of the all-new inspired ATV.

After a long flight to Texas, we hurried to a site in which had secured for the testing. We arrived at the WB in Whitney Texas. Honda out of their way to make sure there was well taken of.

We sat down the first day and had a wonderful at the WB ranch. After we had our fill, explained about all the features of all new, from the ground up ATV. The new lightweight engine was specifically for the 450R.

It’s a liquid-cooled single cylindered with 4 valves and a single Unicam design. Which 42HP in stock form. engine has a revised bore and of 94mm x 64.8mm compared to the 96mm x 62.1mm.

These create a displacement of 450cc. The actuates two 36mm intake and two 30mm exhaust valves by a bearing rocker arm to aid in reducing and wear. The new lightweight cast piston used, features a mm skirt and three rings to engine life.

The cylinder is a race-style Nikasil the crank employs a double-carburized rod with needle bearings to rpm’s and boost durability. the countershaft uses double-row for durability. The cases are lightweight and split and have the oil pump into the left side instead of using a separate oil housing.

The cases use a twin-sump system, which separates the oil from the crankshaft, piston and train from the clutch and This means that you get no contamination from the clutch and to the piston and crank. This will extend the life of the and the clutch will operate at temperatures.

The twin wet-sump also uses an increased oil unlike its CRF cousin, the deeper ensures a more reliable of oil in tough off camber conditions.
