In 2002, Honda first introduced the VTX 1800F series. While the aerodynamic styling of the VTX 1800F awed the motorcycle world, the engine made the biggest impact. Honda went over the top with the mechanics of the VTX series, giving the engine the largest pistons ever created for a motorcycle or a car.

The V-twin engine of the 2002 VTX 1800F had the largest displacement of a motorcycle engine in the world. Of course, the engineers of Honda introduced the VTX series with the biggest, most eye-catching, powerful model they could imagine. In subsequent years, the VTX 1800F remained at the top of the cruiser class, and buyers were given greater customization choices when choosing a new bike.

Since 2002, the Honda VTX1800F has only gotten better. The 2008 VTX 1800F stays true to the muscular appeal of the original bike. This bike is rather large, so the designers had plenty of room to add the touches that are typical of VTX 1800F style.

Customers were given several different options for customization while the basics of the motorcycle remain the same. All versions of the VTX 1800F feature lots of chrome and a low-slung, broad silhouette evoking a drag-bike attitude. For those who want to make a big statement with a motorcycle, the VTX 1800F is an excellent choice.

The Honda VTX 1800F is not only about style. The initials VTX stand for V-twin extreme, and this phrase appropriately describes the engine of this amazing motorcycle. The fuel injected engine of the VTX 1800F delivers 120 foot pounds of torque and 106 horsepower.

When test riders twisted the throttle, the sound of the engine roaring to life was impressive. The gears shift effortlessly with a smoothly operating clutch. Despite the powerful engine, test drivers reported very little vibration during their rides.

The seat and rider position of the VTX 1800F is quite comfortable for miles of traveling. The bike is extremely low but well balanced, so it handles very well for its size. Test riders mentioned that the VTX 1800F was great for riding around town on smooth streets.

However, they also mentioned that the suspension was not equipped to handle large bumps or potholes gracefully. With flashy style and an amazing motor, it is no wonder that the VTX 1800F is one of the most popular cruisers on the market.

New For 2008

The throttle of the 2008 Honda VTX 1800F has been updated with a new fuel injection system. This sensors in this system more accurately measure torque.

Honda updated the braking system of the 2008 VTX 1800F. This bike does not feature the typical separate hand and foot brakes. The hand brake and foot brake work together to give solid stops at all speeds.
