Hi Guys, thought i throw some pics and of my current build job.

i put a couple of pics up in the my bikes T started but here is some detail!

in 1984, i purchased a new 240 wr. ol mate had picked up dealership and to get a few on the he gave me good deal. owned PEs and KDX’s at the time, the was a bit wierd but i got the hang of it. the water became a serious issue 12 months and i eventually sold it to over the phone while around Aus.

on we go. Looking at the i was struck by two things. 1. the size of the tyre, it was a 5.60! a huuuge for a 240. 2nd was the barrel, looked big to me.

The local husky man assured me the ere for 240? something was not right.

i got it and realised that the plan to get it then steadily do it up was out the door and b was enacted.

All the rubber mounts were every thing held on zip ties and wire. the shock and wheel bearings and swing arm were all solid and the chain and looked good. No leaking seals and shocks. The tank was on the bike but no mounts and the there was no

A full strip down and was commenced.

i ripped into the plastics off, wheels out out and triple clamps removed. off, swingarm out, off and radiators out. All but one of the upper brackets were broken

I slipped the tape measure the exhaust port and hmmm is bigger than it should be. the head off and an 83.5 mm pistons the story. A 400. you ripper!

As all good news, a bucket of soon arrives to spoil day and on removing the front sprocket, i was with the missing coolant! a bummer, i didnt plan on a teardown!

Out it came, stripped all the and finished off the swingarm by tearing off the guide, and roller.

Pulled the water pump and what a mess. ripped the cover off and sent it in to get waterblasted to damage.

The side stand had been torn off at some so the area was ground smooth for a new to be welded on.

Ripped the front off the rim and what great sight, rim tape, clean as a whistle and check out that drum, like new one. Didnt bother painting the hub.

were mix of good and bad. one was clean as a whistle inside the second one was full of rusty poo and oil. the damping washer had and the spring was rusty.

sent the shox for repair and the to the powdercoaters

Whipped a heap of old into the threads on the frame and it and a whole lot of alloy bits to the coaters and all the bolts, allen and bits and pieces to the platers for plating.

Time to start parts and cleaning the cleanable. I Nifti, a real old school thats good on plastics and got rid of the grime nicely. time to up for now.
