The Vincent Black is a bike of mythic reputation, the of machine that even people have probably of, although they couldn’t tell you what one looked They are innovative, powerful, and above all, rare: amazing to me that eBay has a “Vincent” category, they up for sale so infrequently.

Phil C began Vincent HRD Co. Ltd in the 1920’s, and the Vincents used JAP and Rudge-Python in proprietary swing-arm frames.  the company designed its own engine, a single and this was later into the 50-degree, 998cc found in the bike featured

Unusually, of the famous Black Shadow far-eclipsed production of the lower-spec on which it was based.  The evocative was inspired by the bike’s sinister in contrast to the bright and shiny of the time, the bikes swathed in from head to toe, the crank case and engine although a few [approximately 15] were as White Shadows and painted to the Rapide.

It’s difficult to explain how advanced these bikes when introduced, incorporating that would not be adopted for decades to come.  The Series B and C lacked a traditional frame, the steering head bolted to the front cylinder and the rear mounted to the gearbox.  The gearbox was with a pedal adjustable for riders that operated 4 when contemporary bikes had 3 or fewer.

The original ad is pretty spare and very minimal information this specific bike.  bid is just north of $72,000 the Reserve Not Met.  Not sure how this will go, but these are some of the most collectible ever produced.

Given history and “all-original” condition, may be more of a showpiece than a But what a showpiece!
