Exclusive. Roger Bourget Launches Roger Bourgets Chopper Shop

Many among you wondered where was and what was up with Custom Builder Roger Bourget. After nearly 20 years of being the very creative lead designer and builder of custom motorcycles for Bourget’s Bike Works (BBW), tired of all the stress of the large shop, Roger and his new wife Emily moved to one of the nation’s best riding southwest  locations where they just started Roger Bourgets Chopper Shoppe headquartered in the city of Montrose, Colorado.

Is it a good time to launch a new venture in the custom motorcycle production business? Personally, I think so. Many great businesses have been started during difficult economic times, taking advantage of a a weakened and dull competition, but of course only if you have the balls, the experience, the capital and hundred of new design ideas parked in your mind.

In 2012 Roger will officially launch new bagger, chopper and sport bike designs and I am sure the profession can’t wait to see if he will be able to influence again the whole V-Twin industry like he did it with his own designs between 1992 to this day.

To know all about his background, just jump to Roger Bourget. To summarize, in 1992 Roger became the first bike builder to offer a complete rolling chassis to the public, then designing the revolutionary oil-in frame/drop seat style chassis marking a revolutionary change in the style of custom motorcycles offered for sale to the general public. The design was so unique that Roger secured a U.S.

Patent for his personal work. In addition to the drop-seat/oil-in frame chassis patent, he also holds U.S. Patent for his jackshaft design, which enabled the drivetrain to be centered in all of Roger’s wide-tire chassis – holding anywhere from a 250-, 280-, 300-, or his own custom 330-series rear tire developed in 2004 in collaboration with Avon.

Between 2003 and 2005, Roger Bourget was producing as many as 800 custom motorcycles out of Phoenix. In 2008, he also created the “Shredder Street Quad,” which debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.  The prototype featured four 330-series tires, the same power-to-weight ratio as a Bugatti Veyron, acceleration of 0 to 60 in 4 seconds, and a top speed of around 175 miles per hour.

But the good news is not only to see a fellow custom builder being back in full force in the business, but also the fact that Roger Emily Bourget are hiring quite a few collaborators. So, if you are a builder, fabricator, CNC machinist, master fabricator or H-D/custom bike tech and have what it takes to work with a legend in the custom bike world, you can submit your credentials online at Roger Bourgets Chopper Shoppe Employment. I will meet with Roger Emily in 2 weeks in Sturgis.

So, stay tuned for more exclusive news.
