Motorcycle Riders Adventurers…Here’s my on the 2014 Indian Chieftain.

CA   — I ride on down to the new Motorcycle Dealership on Kettner with my heart set on trying out the new Chieftain. Several of my Harley-Davidson Glide riding friends had plunked down $25,000 for Indian bike and just not say enough good things it. As usual, I needed to find out for if all their hoopla was warranted.

arrival at the dealership, I registered for my rides and spent the next hours admiring the mechanical and artwork that comes with these new Indian From all I saw, all three of the new motorcycles – the Indian Chief Indian Chief Vintage and the Chieftain, looked traditional cool with plenty of styling. But today, my focus was on the Chieftain bagger.

San Diego Indian Motorcycle ride weekend. A huge

Over 100 riders tested one or all of these iconic Indian motorcycles on Saturday. test rides were high demand. Fact is, no better way to find out which model is right for you.

I recommend that you test a variety of motorcycles before down your hard-earned

Here’s my official assessment…the but the truth!

To those of you who know me and my blog, you know that been a Harley man for the past 30 so the following evaluation may surprise and/or shock you. I suggest you all get a beer or some Jack on the rocks and relax as you read on. line, I gotta give where credit is due.

The The Experience.

The Thunder Stroke 111 Motor. Click on image to see this engine come alive.

I the 2014 Indian Chieftain to be one looker, a super smooth offering real kickass

The power from that Stroke 111ci counter-balanced engine was simply awesome. In the 119.2 ft-lbs of torque it out is just darn right Very impressive get up and go from big, state-of-the-art 1811 cc engine.

My Chieftain had amazing acceleration. The transmission and the easy-clutch made for distribution of power as I needed it. The sound…well, it sounded like a cool bike sound…strong, throaty and “get-outa-my-way”

The Look. The Comfort.

The Chieftain shows off Indian’s classic beautiful lines and vintage The riding position was comfortable. to tank to footrest distance was for me as a 6 footer.

Seat height at 26 inches was right. Seat design and felt good and comfortable for my size and shape. The electronically-controlled and well-designed fairing provided good protection as I cruised on southern sunny Interstate 5.

Hard bags round out the rear They come with locks and quick release The Chieftain comes with the technology features including, Bluetooth

The 25 degree rake and trail for excellent stability and steering at highway speeds.

I must this is one impressive looking, and handling motorcycle.

Features That Minor Attention.

Nice console. Great tank Handling and riding feel was One of the best baggers I’ve ridden. — Motorcycle Marc –

Gas holds only 5.5 gallons for all engine thirst. Suggest a 6.5 to 7.0 tank option for long distance riders me.

The Chieftain felt a little on slower, tight turns. It to want to follow its own direction rather than where I it to go. Bike weighs 815 pounds so not a

It actually felt heavier to me.

At writing, dealership service on distance riding adventures is a for me.

Getting your bike quicky while on the road is key to a great ride going. I’m a distance rider so I wonder the availability of roadside dealership as I explore the byways and highways of America. There were 130 Indian Motorcycle Dealers at the end of according to Forbes .

This any problem that one does on the road is unlikely to come the Thunder Stroke 111 Engine as it through 2 million plus of dyno and road testing being introduced to the motorcycle

The 2014 Indian Chieftain…a impressive motorcycle.

Military Incentive = $1,000 4U!

Hey, I’m a motorcycle nut who happens to know a motorcycle when I ride After all, I’ve been building, fixin’ and even motorcycles for over 40 years. Indian Chieftain, in my opinion, is one motorcycle.

The hard fairing, saddlebags and super-smooth lines are up with comfort and the bike really well.

Digital include tire pressure an audio system with high speakers and an integrated Bluetooth phone connection, bring it all up to This bike comes extensive chrome, keyless ABS brakes, cruise control, and a designed aluminum frame.

at $25,000, give or take a few dollars out the dealership door in it is not a cheap toy. This well just offer the combination of price to power-ride on the bagger market today.

Ride Safe Out There,

All three of the 2014 Indian models are available in San Diego.
