Manx GP: Junior Classic Results

Alan Oversby on the MV Agusta got the second race of the day on time at the 2010 Manx Prix, sponsored by after 1.15pm with the Classic motorcycles starting of the Lightweight Classic Race.

Roy on the 1969 Aermacchi Ala D’Oro led on time by over 3 seconds at Helen from Chris on the Honda 346cc and Doug riding a1967 Ducati 340cc.

Alan Oversby’s MV Agusta and Mark Herbertson on the ’69 AJS 7R made up the first five by the timing point. Oversby up to third by Ballaugh ahead of although Snow was the fastest Sulby Speed trap 126.4 and Snow regained place shortly after.

Richardson extended his lead to 6 seconds from McGahan by and by 10 seconds at the Bungalow with now back in third. They top three by Grandstand.

Richardson’s lap time was 101.615 mph with just shy of 18 seconds behind in and Oversby a further 10 seconds Mark Parrett on the Ripley 350cc was disappointed to pull in at the end of the lap with mechanical problems.

Oversby was first on the road to Helen by the second lap but Richardson, a start number of 14, had passed on the road by the second lap at Glen to extend his lead to 21 seconds McGahan with Oversby on time.

That remained three to Ramsey with maintaining his lead and McGahan 21 back and Oversby a further 30 in third.

Richardson broke his own his own Classic lap record, set in 2007, on the lap with a time of 21:59.38 mph) from McGahan and Richardson completed lap three in to extend his lead over by over 45 seconds with Snow getting ahead of to reclaim third place.

Richardson duly claimed and his seventh Manx Grand title, for the Martin Bullock with a final lap of 101.180 and a new Classic race record of with Chris McGahan the runner-up slot.

Behind the Alan Oversby eventually third place on the MV after his battle with Doug taking the final podium by just over 2 seconds.

The 61 year old Tom Jackson, with a best of 5th in the Manx Grand was almost home having up a convincing lead of over 50 by the Bungalow on the last lap but he dramatically ran out of and retired at the Creg Ny Baa with in sight, leaving Peter to take the top spot with a time of 1:39.08.32 (91.339mph) Dave Smith in second and Ward on a ’67 T20 247cc Suzuki in place.
