New Cannondale 400

Sure, go for it. 4 grand thats a good deal. It will be pretty fast and parts are made now again. i say go for it.

Take it from someone who has both an 03 Cannondale 440 and a YFZ 450. They are every comparable yet very different bikes. $4000 for a Speed seems to be the going rate. Cannibals are about $500-600 less. Parts are easy to come by and ATK is already making the motorcycles and quads again (go to to verify).

Dinli actually purchased the intellectual property and has announced they will manufacture the Cannibal, Speed, Glamis, Blaze, and Moto models and will return in summer of 2004.

If you want a great quad at very good prices, get one now as prices will jump right back up when they are being sold new again at dealers. Many 01’s did have problems and probably not worth the headaches. the 02 and 03’s are great with a few updates. ATK’s cannondales (they can’t actually call them cannondale since they don’t won the name so they call them ATK 440’s) are rumored to be starting around $7000 and up to $10,000.

I would assume that Dinli’s cannondales (Dinlidales?) will be about the same price range when they manufacture them this next year. They did say that tehy would be less expensive than what cannondale sold them fro but were also looking at cheaper aftermarket parts to keep the prices down.

Cannondale started a trend in super-sport bikes that seems to be really heating up now with Honda and Yamaha both putting out competitive quads. It’s hard to make comparisons between the quads. Most comparisons I see are about speed.

This, in and of itself, tells you very little about the quad and more about the rider. Both quads are fast and can be made faster with aftermarket parts. I like the Yamaha 450’s engine, the frame is light and small (i’m not a big guy and the raptor is too heavy), and it’s easy to work on. The 450’s seat is very uncomfortable, the throttle is very stiff, and the suspension is just average.

The cannodales are fuel injected so there is no jetting, the seats are soft (with the exceptio of the cannibal), the throttle is the best i’ve ever used, and they come with lots of aftermarket parts all stock (although they were more costly as a rsult). However, they are higher maintenance, parts are not at your local dealer, and the have depreciated a lot in value since the cannondale bankruptcy.

It’s all 6’s. Everyone with have their own preference, but I like them both. At this point, $4000 is better than $8000, so go get that quad.
