Honda CL350 Cafe

Posted November 6, 2013

It is no that I love, I LOVE. 350′s…and I’m not the only one. The CB is by accounts the biggest selling of all time…hell, I have four of CB,CL and SL models.

A couple one’s a parts bike and the is in boxes, milk crates and from the rafters in my barn.

My affair with the Honda began in 1971 when I was in a contest with my friend Even though I was riding a BSA 650 of the time, the contest revolved smaller bikes. Eddie won a of times but when I got my first his ‘little’ Yamaha DT1 250 was left in the

I eventually sold the SL350, I had slogged it through the deserts of California for a couple of years to regret it a few years later. search was on for another. I ended up a 1972 CB350 that had sitting out in a back yard for like 10 years or so.

That 350 looked pretty bad, but it was all and the price was right, a hundred On to my trailer it went (flat and all the spiders you could want, a … mouse in the right airfilter) and home it came me. I still have it…25 later.

Once home, some service, a lot of elbow grease and a few (?) new and I was back on my favorite little twin. Over the years I put a cafe treatment on the bike, bars, changed the exhaust, the pegs back a bit, the suspension, I even put good on it. Now it is waiting for the big bore kit I recently to be installed.

Building Cafe Racer out of a 350 nowadays is a pretty easy to do. Parts are available easily; seats, controls, suspension, you name it and a good credit card you can it delivered to your door the day. But here is the thing building a vintage cafe you’re going to do it right, it gonna be cheap and it ain’t to happen over a weekend.

The and money you put into it is for your own time comes to sell it, set your hopes too high.

So, on that note, I found a sweet CL350 that has a lot of nice parts and a lot of love put it and is being sold at a reasonable (so far). This CL motor has gone through, it didn’t much it only has 4837 on it, carbs rebuilt, new electrics, etc. Then we get into the cool stuff.

The bike was down and everything was either coated, painted or polished. The got new spokes, bearings and tires. was all redone front and rear, handlebars, rearsets and the exhaust, may be a bit loud but it sure looks

I really dig the instruments and the headlight I think I’m changing the vision I for my own new 350 project.

This is a really done Honda 350 that last for a long time mechanically and styling. Click on the below for more info and pictures.

Oh and one last thing, the advert says top speed is believe them…maybe 95mph is it tops out. But with a little work, the little 350 ‘Do the Ton’. Have fun.
