Pocketbike Racing at Miller Motor Park

Hey Everyone,

There is a chance that we can tap a 50cc Road Race on to the Supermoto schedule at Miller. I am just generating interest to present to Miller to justify a class. If we can get enough people to confirm and pre-register through, this will be a reality!

I think it would be a lot of fun and would allow competitors as young as 5 years old!

The price would be $35-$50, transponders would be required for scoring and are rented at $15/day. It would have its own points system and trophies for bikes complying with set forth rules. Non rule complying machines will be allowed to compete on a second grid but there will be no points for them.

The required gear will be at a minimum supermoto gear, please see the Utah Supermoto Championship Rule book.

Riders down to 5 years old may be allowed to compete, no race license is required.

The goal is to incorporate rules that allow the majority of people to compete for points, however assuming your machine is not a safety hazard to the others (i.e. too fast) we can allow you to ride on a separate grid but not compete for points.

Currently the anticipated rules are that set forth in the US Mini GP Featherweight class:

Unless otherwise noted, the following rules apply to all pocketbike classes:

* Bikes must be rigid frame with wheels no larger than 6.5

* Engines must be gas/oil burning two strokes. No engine enhancers such as NOS are allowed and all bikes must be naturally aspirated.

* No modifications of any kind may be made to the engine, exhaust, intake or exhaust manifolds, or carburetor.

* No electronic ignition systems may be used.

* All components must be production based

* Production- defined as stock configuration and readily available for sale to all consumers. 20 units must be initially available for a new product to be considered production. Classification determinations ultimately rest with USMGP officials.

* Production Exhaust Pipe- defined as stamped/seamed or DM made production exhaust pipe ONLY. Giannini exhaust pipes on any bike other than the 4.2 are not considered production class.

* Any race class with three or less competitors will be run with the next highest class and scored for separate points.
