Sachs Motorcycles

Advantages: and nice Italian extras a Jap engine

Disadvantages: Need to rev it and built to a budget

This has a retro look and feel goes perfectly with the 650cc single cylinder, engine that comes of Suzuki. But while the styling is the handling is impressive thanks to frame guru Fritz (who made his name Vincent Black Shadow into his own chassis). The Sachs 650 is as an every day motorcycle, a workhorse you can use to get to work on and enjoy at weekends

The bike is not currently imported the UK now, but parts and second ones can be had relatively easily.

My one is a model in electric blue only 8,000 miles on the I managed to get one second hand a new MOT for Ј1,000. A similar aged would cost me over that.

This one was sat in a dealers and he wanted to it before Christmas, so I was well with the deal.

Top speed is 105mph with a maximum of 41.3 ft-lb at 6200rpm. The pumps out 50bhp at 6750rpm. is a single cylinder walloper thumper of a bike.

My bike has the extras of a centre stand, bars and fly screen fitted.

The German bike is equipped excellent Italian Grimeca brakes, with a 320mm brake disc and a 220mm at the Wheels are classic spoked rims. The gearbox is a five-speeder, is all you need with a big thumper the 650 Roadster — especially as it weighs 154kg dry, a 54kg down on something the Suzuki Bandit.

Light decent chassis, flexible and good brakes all add up to a bike does just what it is to do. It isn’t going to win races, but not what it was made for, it is a solid all round performer. height is 740mm fine for height riders.

Other optional extras colour co-ordinated hard and crash bars.

You will other riders do a double as most have never one before, as it thunders up to the lights. Its a for money package which is good fun as the Lanfranconi exhaust creating a nice but not too noisy note.

Its a good bike to ride too but you to keep the revs up and make it is in the right gear as the twin and then the twin spark make sure you rattle swiftly — but you can take in the on this bike, its no plastic bike and the Suzuki engine is the one as used on the current Suzuki DR 650 100% value for money.

Summary: A good value which is unusual and turns a few Nice ride.
