2007 Vulcan 1600 Nomad
By Milack(Owner), Oct. 10, 2008
The Nomad is a great bike. It is big and but stable, powerful and smooth. As a cruiser you want a bike provides a great platform to many miles quickly. is it.
On the highway it provides a comfortable eating up miles effortlessly. an almost 8. 00 pound motorcycle never be considered sporty, bike really likes the A handful at slow parking lot at somewhat above legal it actual is incredibly easy to go around curves. It sets and holds the line throughout.
In motion it handles like a smaller and lighter bike.
The are good for me — I’m with a 30 inseam and not exactly and the seat, bar, floorboard works well. I can easily put feet down at stops, and it feels too big to control.
Like bikes with shaft you’ll need to be very with your right as abrupt on and off throttle motions the back end to jack a little, but never found it to be bothersome. is (was) more bothersome was the air as there was helmet buffeting at possible speed and at every height of the adjustable windshield. I had to buy lowers (much larger stock) to alleviate this
Kawasaki really needs to a little more time in a tunnel, shaping the windshield and end. I don’t know if the 1700 version (to appear in the near future) will remedied this or not. One the newer version (at least on seems to have fixed is the of a 6th gear. At cruising speeds I always feel like gear would come in
When the clutch gets hot in stop and go traffic) it gets Not a big issue, but I will admit I’ve stalled it more once when the clutch to grab rather than like I was expecting.
I happen to the saddlebags are the best looking bags in the industry. The ones on the new now look like the same as else’s. Buy the liners for the bags. come in handy.

My mileage has consistently averaged 40, and I’m not known for taking it on the throttle. This year the price at the pump, I’ve it whenever possible instead of my car to to work.
With fully rear shocks, you might to experiment with the pre-load and air settings to get the right feel for you and riding, and for the addition of a passenger, but had no trouble getting it to where it best for me. I set the preload to III (3) and run with 25 or 30 of air, and that seems to all situations.
I’ve put over 3500 on this summer alone, and my overall impression is very I really like this and have no plans to replace it soon. I am very happy the Nomad, especially when you in the purchase price.
In summary:
Positives:
— Stable platform
