The Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy – A Race Spec ATV Off the Showroom Floor

Race spec ATV’s occupy a special place in the hearts of ATV buyers. Loud, brightly colored, and insanely fast are three of the most common descriptors of these machines. In the world of Racing ATV’s, though, some are destined to stand out. The Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy is just such a machine. Based on the KX 450F motocross engine, this racing ATV is a thoroughbred of distinctive power and presence.

From its 449cc liquid-cooled dual overhead cam engine to its unmistakable Monster Energy bodywork, standing astride the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy gives one the feeling that even a novice racer could spring to the head of the pack without even breaking a sweat.

The Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy is based on the Kawasaki KX 450R motocross engine, a four stroke; four valve single that makes bunches of power all the way from the starting line to redline. There are a host of race-spec hop ups over the more sedate Kawasaki ATVs, including lightweight parts such as forged pistons, titanium valves and aluminum valve spring retainers, lightweight exhaust headers, and an aluminum chassis. Engineers also concentrated on ease of access when crafting the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster energy, in particular making it much easier to remove damaged body sections such as fenders for replacement, and the headlight is quickly detachable for races with no need for headlamps.

The Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy features a manual transmission with reverse, Digital fuel injection, and electric starting. You’ll also find that the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy has front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with petal-style rear brake rotors to reduce the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy’s unsprung weight.

The suspension system incorporates dual-rate front springs, adjustable rear springs to compensate for high and low speed compression and handling, and longer than normal lower front A-arms. These minimize variations in camber during the suspension stroke. This helps to give the rider more traction during any conditions.

The Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy also features several Monster Energy edition specific add-ons, including black wheels, painted black aluminum frame, scratch-resistant bodywork, (again, easily removable and replaceable in the event of damage) and special edition Monster Energy graphics. Chances are, if you’re in the market for a racing ATV that will get you on the track in a minimum of time, you’ll be hard pressed to beat the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy in terms of either price or performance.

You’ll find the Kawasaki KFX 450R Monster Energy at your local Kawasaki dealership for around $7849. Not bad considering the races you might win with the thing.
