avee8tor: It looked as if that was filmed in France. They have a HP restriction. French bikes are limited to 106HP. I am in Canada and mine is 158HP. If you also remove the butterflies in the intake system you get more touque and a few more HP’s.

The engine was slightly de-tuned from the ZX14 to make it more of a touring engine.

dracdrum: Disappointing engine? Really? Most Sport tourers envy this motor. Maybe the $28,000 BMW with the I6 would turn it’s nose at it. But for a 680lb bike it is a rocket.

Stock they can hit mid 11s in the Quarter. I have a 2010, and the only difference is the Ram Air adding only 7hp at speed.

neunelf911: I’ve just ordered one in Ireland for January delivery. I wish it was only 16000 euro. It’s costing 19,000 here — no doubt lots of extra taxes for us over here. grrr

Thats so funny cuz ive been riding crotch rockets for 25 years had the chance to test ride this work of art let me tell you. here in Canada this bike kicks your ass at full throttle! I have ordered the 2009 Diablo Black Model intend on having one fricken awesome summer of 09.


avee8tor: Great bike love mine but have to disagree with a few of the comments in the film which were way off base.

avee8tor: France I believe has a power output restriction on motorcycles which limits the HP on this bike by over 1/3. Also a few simple mods make it a very fast machine and not for the faint hearted.

junius1212: I just put 2500 miles on mine and it keeps getting faster and more agile. Deal’s Gap, NC was a blast, even in the rain and the connie never faltered. I will now sell the harley because I will never ride it.

Annunaki11: 153 HP ( detuned from 190 HP ). 136 NM. top speed. 260-270. I think that’s plenty for a touring bike. What’s he complain-in about !

avee8tor: Mainly like I said before they complained about the engine power. There is more than enough power etc to get you into trouble, plus the sub 1000 sports bikes can’t touch it. I have put several thousand miles on mine with no problems or complaints (apart from not having enough time to ride it more!!)

Brainiac83: I dont think it has so many features and a ZX 1400 powerplant.Not to mention forever lasting drive shaft.

BFDeihl: Omps1976: while I agree wholeheatedly BMW builds a very nicely finished bike— you probably should have taken a test RIDE on the Kawasaki, instead of judging it solely on your fashion sense, Its truly a very competent motorcycle. I’ve got over 16k on my 2008 C14. The friends I ride with own everything from Ducati to H-D.
