1977 Rickman Kawasaki Turbo for Sale

Posted on 27, 2013 by tad

Hm, what’s this?  A Kawasaki 1400 CRT Turbo Racer.  Read that A Rickman Kawasaki 1400 CRT Cafe Racer?

So this pretty wild.  What out as a pretty garden-variety Kawasaki Okay, really there was never much that was “garden-variety” about this Rickman was sort of like the Bimota, a small company took powerful engines unruly and wayward-handling Japanese and stuffed them into strong frames, wrapped in new bodywork, and created what the manufacturers could not: sport bikes.

This relatively rare has been completely transformed, nearly every component and updated in some way.  The sports a nickel-plated Rickman and lightweight fairing, which are enough to begin with, but the was heavily upgraded with a bump in displacement to 1400cc and a kit, with water-injection to the intake charge nice and and prevent pre-detonation.

The original ad contains a comprehensive [the build stuffed into very blue paragraph] of the build and the parts that used, and the photos are very as well:

Rickman Kawasaki 1400 CRT Cafe Racer for Sale

The was completely rebuilt and the displacement to 1400cc by famous drag champion and engine builder Walker from “Holeshot fame in Santa Cruz New parts installed during the rebuilding process. cam bearings, clutch hub, main trust assembly, stainless valves, stainless over exhaust valves, valve HD cam chain, HD head nuts, APE kit, Dyna S ignition, set, finished big block 1395cc Wiseco piston HD clutch hub nut, HD set of valve graphite head gasket, cam tensioner.

Additionally the crankshaft was indexed, and welded, connecting rods the transmission gears were and the engine cases were coated blue. The head was ported. A new SS Super Shorty E was added, which was jetted, set up and mated to a new larger then the RAJAY turbo by HAHN (HRC) from Oswego IL. A Mr. water injection system was to prevent pinging under load.

The exhaust header a HPC coating which is guaranteed not to colour even under the exhaust temperatures. A custom thru exhaust pipe was sound is to … for.

This lurid green even sports an instrument from a Hesketh and some trick gauges set into the infill panels.  The parts in the ad is extensive, if you can get through what like one, heavily-caffeinated paragraph.

No real bidding on this one so far and only four left, which is a shame.  thing seems like be a blast to show or ride.

With a buy it now of and less then 12 hours to go, a lot of candy bars.

The H1 was the first of the big and it went fast, scary And those were the road its hard to imagine what happen on the track. At least tracks have nice run-offs.
