Here, the ER-6n naked and without the faired ER-6f is distinguished with panel between. The ER-6f is marketed in the U.S. under the brand name of Kawasaki Ninja 650R.

It is designed for its relatively low price, the easy handling and the optional reduction to 34 hp / 25 kW for the beginner market and competes mainly with Suzuki Gladius and Honda CBF600.

Safety, the standard anti-lock braking system (ABS). The engine features an electronically controlled fuel injection.

The relatively low seat height of 785 mm (n) or 790 mm (f), the ER-6 makes it a perfect bike for smaller people. Larger people (about 175 cm) be seated a little uncomfortable due to the strongly bent legs here, but likely due to the overall seating position cope without restrictions also longer trips.

Than the ER-6 engine is a fundamentally redesigned Parallel Twin. Thus, it builds on the previous model ER-5 only in name. As with many of the current motorcycles ER6 has an analog-digital Anzeigenmix the instruments.

In this case, the tachometer is analog and the digital speedometer and odometer readings.

The top speed is about 220 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

Controlled by a 3-way catalyst, the ER-6 meets the emission standards EURO-third A special feature is the centrally located under the engine muffler, the principle of which was copied from the former motorcycle manufacturer Buell. The built-up on the right side of the rear monoshock is another eye-catcher. Another unconventional variety are the front indicators, which are built into the radiator covers.

The F variant differs from the N only in the full fairing and another instrument carrier. All technical data are identical to the N model.

With the 2009 vintage, the ER6 has undergone a facelift. Basically, the design edgier was. So changed the headlight mask and was larger. The parking lights were pulled up and adjusted the headlights on style. Likewise, tank and radiator covers were changed in the lines.

Tail lights and indicator lights are installed in an LED version. The instrument panel was also greater, as well as the instruments themselves, the mix of analog and digital display has been retained, but now the speedometer is analog and integrated the tachometer in the digital multifunction display. The rocker on the other hand has been adapted to the frame design and thus round.

The rear axle now carries a small Radabeckung. The F-model full fairing has been adapted to the angular design, the formerly analog instruments have been replaced with a digital display

The vintage 2012 brought profound modifications. Frame and swingarm have been completely re-designed and executed as a double tube. The engine was re-tuned and designed for even more torque in the mid rpm range. The cooler covers were smaller, because the front indicators are now classic installed on booms.

The rear was a little shorter and changed the tail light. The previous one-piece seat was replaced by a tandem solution. The instrument panel has been changed. Speedometer and tachometer exchanged again the display formats, so that as the beginning of the tachometer is performed analogously.

The tank was slightly enlarged. The F variant was again a change in the full fairing and the instrument panel was replaced by a digital-to-analog version, which is based on the N-model.
