1988 Kawasaki GPX750R United Kingdom

Left indicators stopped working.

I now own a Kawasaki GPX750R, as a bike is better for me, as I weigh stone.

The price of it was £450, and is cheap, even if it is a 1988 The seller dropped the price the £600. It was advertised on eBay. He my lower offer straight

I have had the bike for just a two months now, so this is of my initial impressions, in order to anyone looking on eBay for a bike.

It is black, a Kawasaki as that is what the stickers on the say, but it is called a ZX750-F2 to the MOT and registration certificate for some It was described as being in average which is easy to argue The bike came with an MOT July 2011; that is about a year, so at least it be road worthy you would

The bike has a stainless steel (4 into 1), but someone has fallen off the as the exhaust is dented and scratched.

It has a new but the sprockets have not been and the chain needs adjustment, if the MOT tester was supposed to have the chain should be loose.

I am told the bike has new brake but the brake pads are well and so not new.

Oil and filters were to have been changed, but the oil was very low and needed a top up of half a The oil looks dirty, so the question is was it changed? The sump plug had over tightened, so could be by hand and cannot be re tightened.

Had to it up after the oil change.

Clutch was and was also leaking; this had to be as well; total cost was £100.

The bike does have tyres with plenty of left in them though. It has brake lines, so the originals have been rotten. It is a very cheap bike, not to buy, but also to insure, as was only £95.

There are of parts and mod available everywhere. I had to the front forks; it cost £40 nearly two hours labour to do it. as the same make and model of in perfect condition went on e Bay for last week.

Another point is the top speed; it is restricted to km/h (112 mph), yes Get near that speed and it is you have just run out of petrol. I noticed it trying to keep up a BMW. I pulled over to the as the previous owner had told me the were out of balance. But this strange as the bike will do 60 mph in gear without any problems, and is also no backfiring.

I even took it to a garage to get a on having the carburettors sorted he wanted four hours

I was also told the engine was too which seemed strange, he refused to do any work on it. It was then I online and found out that all sold in Japan are restricted.

The good point about restricted performance is the bike has been thrashed at high Judging by the quietness of the engine, it has of life in it.

I have not read a bad of this particular model, and it even when not restricted, are very reliable. I wonder if is as they were originally for endurance racing?

The few months of have not been trouble what with the replacement and clutch leaking; one wonders how did it an MOT a few weeks previously?

I keep suckered buying bikes on This is the third one. You can about the others in my other

Would you buy another motorcycle this manufacturer? Yes
