Another Beautifully Engineered By Kawasaki

I was given this by a bloke who no longer wanted it. He me all the documents to the bike, keys and the workshop manual, as well as the where i needed to pick it up

When i turned up at the bikes place’ i was hoping for the guy to wheel it out the garden, clean tidy and to go, this wasn’t the case.

He me around the back of his house and to the back of his garden where i just make out a front covered in weeds, the rest of the was hidden in the conifer that had around it. Lifting a PVC window out the way i was to drag the bike from its ground.

I wasn’t holding out much of it running now or any time in the near

Rolling it out into the street the seemed complete so i kept my crossed.

Pushing the starter revealed a flat battery so the option was to bump start it, not so with a seized front and flat Tyree.

With my dad sat on the and me and this bloke pushing we got the bike running, and for a neglected she sounded fine.

For the next few i did the bike up, repairing the swinging which had seized solid and general repairs.

For an old bike new parts were easy to get hold of, although a tad

For a 305 this little quite quick and can easily up with motorway traffic

I’ve had 110mph out of mine and she was pulling.

Theres always power to get you out of trouble, should you it.

The handling of this is perfect, you can throw it round with little worry, but i recommend fitting decent preferably Bridgestone Battlax Excellent tyre for any condition.

For running around town bike is ideal. She’ll do any from 60-85 to the gallon, depends on how careful you ride.

Insurance on this is dirt cheap. I’m 19 and i got the for this bike for little Ј110 tpft from Choice. Best and cheapest company around.

having this bike it has broke down on me. Thats not to say haven’t broke though. The is rather dodgey and Ive had to rewire sections that have thankfully its only been of lighting, so far.

The other that went on my bike was the belt. When i got it the teeth cracking and i knew it wouldn’t be before it gave in. One day on a fast of road 5 teeth let go, thankfully off.

A new belt for one of these machines is not A new one would set you back Ј200, i got one of ebay, perfect condition, for thank God for ebay.

The last to go was the starter motor. One of the bushes out, and having no kick it left the bike immobile i got the new bush, costing Ј12.

New for this bike are serious dentors, but you can get anything for them, new or second hand.

The last problem i have with bike is the constant rattle of the cam I have replaced the chain, cam guide and tension blade to no Some body told me his chain rattled so much on the that it almost cut though the block.

I know your thinking sounds like rubbish, i did at the but on opening my engine up i found the chain had cut into my cylinder too.

This problem to be inherent of Kawasaki’s of this age on wards), as my dads mate who had a 550 also complained of the same On his new Kawasaki though, the problem to have been rectified.

On all of these Kawasaki’s there is always some sort of rattle, all the GPZ’s i have have all had some rattle.

If your after a bike with decent economy and speed you can’t go with a GPZ 305. Ive been so with it that I’m to get the 400.

Another beautifully bike by Kawasaki.

Look on and I’m sure you’ll the GPZ your after.
