Kawasaki India To Launch ZX-10R, ZX-14R Ninjas In 2013

Good News! In fact, it is raining good news in Indian biking scenario for some time now. New manufacturers coming in, such as Triumph, old manufacturers reviving back (Indian) and coming to India. Now it is the turn of Kawasaki. Kawasaki is the brand that is present in India since a long time, but now news come in they are launching their flagship models in India.

That is right, the Ninja 300 is about to welcome its elder siblings, the Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R with a speculated launch which is going to happen this September, priced at Rs. 15 lakhs and Rs. 17 lakhs respectively.

Both the Ninja ZX-10R and Ninja ZX-14R are the most regarded machines worldwide in terms of performance and aesthetics. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R holds the trump card of being the fastest bike in the world with the new 2013-upgraded model. While the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R has always been the bike to look out for if you wanted the winning superbike in the Japanese pool of litre class bikes. The Kawasaki ZX-10R was the first Japanese superbike to come with traction control and ABS.

Yamaha is the only one who followed the pursuit and Honda and Suzuki have made sure they will not follow the trend on the current litre class motorcycles at least. Honda on the other hand has been working on its street legal motorcycle with their V4 engine and host of electronics like their Moto GP bike. Now all of these manufacturers give ABS as standard.

So does this information suffice? Kawasaki has been the numero uno in terms of engineering and has always been on the top when it comes to innovations. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes with 998cc, inline-four engine that produces 194 BHP of power and 112 Nm of torque, offering a limited top speed of 300 km/hr and doing 0-100 km/hr in just 2.8 seconds.

The Ninja ZX-10R is the only Japanese superbike that holds a candle to the new entrant and the fastest German geek on the block, the BMW S1000RR in terms of dynamics and performance.

On the other hand, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R has triumphed over the Suzuki Hayabusa in terms of the fastest production bike record, which is yet to be proven officially. The ZX-14R comes with a 1.4-litre engine with produces 195 BHP of power and 155 Nm of torque. It sits as low as possible to dodge air resistance and reach 320 km/hr without the limiter.

In terms of aesthetics, the bike has the iconic carryover of the four round headlights. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R also comes with distinctive vents in the front fairing panel and comes in traditional lime green colour. The ZX-14R also has been the one of most comfortable and fastest touring motorcycles. An aluminium monocoque chassis helps it go through corners and sweepers pleasantly too.

This was the exact motorcycle that was rumoured to be supercharged for 2013, eventually it did not get it.

Bajaj Auto plans to be number one in the premium segment. Kawasaki and KTM compete with manufactures like Triumph, Harley-Davidson and Japanese manufactures that sell premium products in the 15-20 lakh range. With these two models coming up, it will help Bajaj Auto sell minuscule amount of motorcycles and try to stay at the top of the charts.

With the company setting up CBU operations, we can expect the KTM Super Duke to make its way here too.

We can expect middleweights such as Kawasaki Z800 or Z1000 to come soon if the ZX-10R and ZX-14R come in because it’s not the first time these rumors have surfaced. First it was in 2010 and then later in late 2012, middle weights were speculated to be coming to our shores as CBU. Nevertheless, Bajaj with its large pro biking store network can cater the demands of after sales and service very easily around the nation too.

Owning your favorite ZX seems possible! Excited fellow Beamers?
