Kawasaki Kz1000


The Kawasaki Kz1000 or Z1000 is a manufactured in Japan by Kawasaki in September 1976 as a 1977 to replace the KZ900 /Z1 in the Z series. It has an 4-cylinder engine and a 5-speed in a ‘one down and four configuration. Producing about it was the fastest production motorcycle of the [ 1 ]

In 1979 Kawasaki introduced the Z liquid-cooled, 6 cylinder engine, became the engine for the Voyager series. Both models available for several years. The model continued in production 2005.

The Kz1000 was featured in the television CHiPs. wherein it was ridden by the characters Ponch and Jon, two Highway Patrol officers. The was also used in various TV shows and feature films as Great Teacher Onizuka (a anime series) and Chain (Keanu Reeves ‘ bike). The Kz1000 was also heavily in the 1979 movie Mad in which a 1977 Kawasaki was ridden by the Main Force officer Jim Goose, played by Bisley. [ 3 ]

Some of the significant differences the Kz900 and the Kz1000 include the latter of the two has a heavier crankshaft for engine vibration, smoother and a larger displacement. The fairing and saddle were molded fiber-glass made by Vetter. while the bar and highway bar were chrome to accentuate the look. Highway were also used for on long trips that require constant shifting or and usually held additional in combination with the single halogen head lamp.
